In this chapter, we learned about the organizations structure and its culture. We also see that how
companies face the challenges and how they make a project. Project managers have to face many
challenges like to complete project on time, under budget, create uniqueness, competing
priorities etc. it is compulsory to select the appropriate project management structure. After
completing the project, supervisor have to decide that how he can implement the project. To
solve this question, we study three methods:
Functional organization: venture manage simply under the existing hierarchy of the organization.
Communication will be happened through normal management channel. The maintain benefits is
the flexibility. It is very flexible that any change can be implement within no time. Other
blessings are easy-post project transitions, no structural change etc. it also has disadvantages as
well. Like lack of focus, terrible integration lack pf ownership etc.
dedicated project team: in this system, a separate team works under the equal organization. That
is there is a separate department of project management team who manage all the projects of the
organization. The advantage is that it is very simple, fast, cohesive etc. but also has its drawbacks
like, it is pricey to setup a separate department, and it also has limited technological expertise.
Matrix structure: The matrix structure is a proven combo of the traditional functional and
projectile structures and allows administration team to slide personnel around to meet needs on
projects as they arise. For example, a undertaking or task team established to develop a new
product may include engineers and design specialists as well as these with marketing, financial,
personnel and production skills.
Network organization: a combination of several organization to produce products and services.
Advantages are cost reduction, flexible etc. their drawbacks are loss of control, conflict etc.
Project consideration: we also talk about the things which are important in project considerations
like dimension of the project, its strategic importance, the proper need for the innovation, budget
and time constraints etc.
Organizational culture: we discuss about the unique norms, values and beliefs which bind the
people together under the one organization. Every organization has its very own culture. And
every member of organization is identified according to their corporation’s culture.
Then we see that how we can identify cultural characteristics. It is very simple as we only have
to observe the peoples of the organization, engage with them, read about the organization, study
the physical characteristics of the business enterprise etc.
