Lab Exercise #2
Provision a G9 ISUP Trunk Group in C20
Description
In this lab, you will provision the logical tuple data in the C20 Call Agent tables that
is required to support the ISUP Trunk circuits you defined on the G9 node.
You will use the CS 2000 Management Tool (CMT) to identify the G9 Virtual Media
Gateway DS1 carriers association with the Gateway Controller that is associated
to the G9 (Virtual Media Gateway).
Once all the C20 Call Agent tables have been successfully datafilled, you will use
the Trunk Maintenance Manager (TMM) tool to busy (BSY) the trunk circuits and
return to service (RTS) the trunk circuits.
Objectives
After completing this lab, you will be able to:
• Identify the G9 Virtual Media Gateway association with a Gateway Controller
(GWC).
• Identify the G9 DS1 carrier association with a Gateway Controller (GWC).
• Provision logical Trunk Group tuple data in the C20 Call Agent.
• Use TMM to return to service the ISUP Trunk Group
Equipment
The following equipment is required to complete this lab:
• Access to the Application Launch Point to access CMT and TMM.
• Access to the C20 Call Session Controller to perform table editor commands to
input trunk Group assignment information.
Instructions
Throughout this lab, refer to the tables provided to identify parameter values that
are required for the provisioning tasks. The proper values are provided based on
your Group Assignment number.

Lab Exercise #2
Provision a G9 ISUP Trunk Group in C20
Instructions
You will telnet to the C20 Call Agent. Use the table editor commands to provision
Trunk Group data tables to support ISUP Trunk Group logical assignments in the
C20.
As shown below, several Tables must be populated to completely configure as
ISUP (SS7) Trunk Group assignment in the C20. In this lab activity, the first three
(3) tables have already been populated for your Trunk Group assignment; you will
populate the last three (3) Tables.
The proper order of datafill for an ISUP trunk Group assignment is as follows.
Each table must be properly datafilled to put the trunk Group assignment into
service.
• Table CLLI
• Table TRKGRP
• Table TRKSGRP
• Table TRKMEM
• Table ISUPDEST

No entries should appear against your Trunk Group CLLI from Tables
TRKMEM, ISUPDEST or C7TRKMEM.
The above command results should only have the following Tables shown
against your Trunk Group CLLI:
CLLI, TRKGRP, CLLIMTCE, TRKSGRP and TRKNAME
Description
In this lab, you will provision the logical tuple data in the C20 Call Agent tables that
is required to support the ISUP Trunk circuits you defined on the G9 node.
You will use the C20 Management Tool (CMT) to identify the G9 Virtual Media
Gateway E1 carriers association with the Gateway Controller that is associated to
the G9 (Virtual Media Gateway).
(GWC).
• Identify the G9 E1 carrier association with a Gateway Controller (GWC).
1. Access the CMT to view the assigned DS1 carriers for GWC-4. GWC-4 is the
Gateway Controller for our G9 Virtual Media Gateway identified as VMG ID 2
(Gateway Name ‘RTP-G9-VMG2). Use Internet Explorer (IE) browser and
enter the following URL in the address bar:
http://172.26.203.139
2. The login window appears. Enter the Login Name and Password.
Login Name: test
Password: Genband456!
3. The Application Launch Point window appears. Select the C20 Management
Tools. (Notice: this is the same location to launch the Trunk Maintenance
Manager (TMM) that will be used later in this activity).
4. When the C20 Management Tools window appears. Navigate to GWC-4 which
is used for our G9 Virtual Media Gateway.
• Under Device Types, click Gateway Controller.
• Under Gateway Controllers, click GWC-4.
8. Display the 31 terminal numbers that the Gateway Controller has assigned to
each timeslot (DS0) on the E1 carrier name.
Click ‘to highlight carrier’.
Click Display.
Note: Shown is an example of a carrier display. When you display your carrier,
copy the terminal numbers (TIDs) in Table 1. This information is required to
provision the C20 Table TRKMEM for each of the 31 trunk members of the trunk
Group assignment.

• Table C7TRKMEM
