DETAILED LESSON PLAN

I. Objectives
At the end of 50-minute period, all of the students should attain at least 80% of
proficiency level and should be able to:
a. Review the kinds of fractions.
b. Solve worded problems of operations on fractions.
c. Relate the topic in real life situation.

B. Motivation

Before we start with our lesson for today, let us have an


activity first that is related from our topic yesterday
which are operations of fractions. We are going to have
two sets of activities. As you can see, we have here a
Fraction Wheel, there will be another Fraction Wheel
later on for our second activity. Let's start with the first
one, where inside of this wheel are fractions that you
are going to identify its kind and your answer will
depends on whatever fraction will be pointed by the
arrow as the wheel stop.
And here is another Fraction Wheel. As you can see
the fractions inside the wheel changed and became
expressions. Again, whatever expression will be
pointed out by the arrow as the wheel stop is what
you are going to solve this time. And you are going
to choose for the correct answer among the choices
provided.

C. Lesson Proper

Based on our motivation, let’s review the


operations of fraction.

In adding and subtracting similar fractions, simply


copy the denominator and proceed to the operation
and simplify if possible.

Example:

To add or subtract dissimilar fractions, find LCD,


rename each dissimilar fractions to its equivalent,
and proceed to its operation. Simplify if possible.

Examples:

Multiplication of Fractions
There are two ways in multiplying fractions, first,
simply multiply numerator by numerator, and
denominator by denominator. Simplify if necessary.

Example:
3 2 3 x2 6 1
x = = ∨
4 3 4 x 3 12 2

The second one, to make the multiplication easier,


by cancellation method.

Example:
3 2 2 1
x = ∨
4 3 4 2

Division of Fractions

To divide fractions or mixed number, multiply the


dividend multiplicative inverse or reciprocal of
divisor.

Example:

1 1 1 3 3 1
÷ = x = ∨
12 3 12 1 12 4

Despite having all of these but without God in your
life,there will still be a portion inside us that feels like
something is missing.

On the other hand eventhough we don't have it all but we

have Him in our life,we won't feel that we aren't complete.


He gives us contentment , fulfillment and satisfaction in
life.Because God is the foundation of all.
