FOREWORD
This document, as an experimental norme, is applicable and submitted for observations for a duration of 6 months.
If no comments are received by 31/12/2004 at the address : [email protected],the content of this document
shall be confirmed.
The main purpose of this norme is to provide material specifications in order to meet a precise function.
Specifications to be met by the part must be specified on the functional cahier des charges or on the functional
drawing.
This norme replaces norme B62 0200 which related to material specifications together with certain functional
specifications such as climatic ageing.
Now, these specifications must be shown on the functional specifications or on the functional drawing.
Norme B62 0300 provides material characteristics in relation to the specifications of this norme.

1. OBJECT AND FIELD OF APPLICATION
The object of this norme is :
• to express the functional requirements specific to the material in the form of a code. This code is shown on
drawings in addition to the specifications for the part.
• to differentiate functional tests on the part from material intrinsic tests to be carried out on slabs.
This norme applies to thermoplastic and thermosetting materials, thermoplastic elastomers and rubbers. These
materials may be rigid or flexible, solid or low density, reinforced or not reinforced. Cellular materials, yarns and
fibres are the subject of specific normes.

3.TERMINOLOGY AND DEFINITION
A dictionary (glossary) of the main terms and their definitions used within the "Direction des Plates-formes, des
Techniques et des Achats" can be consulted internally via the DPTA glossary.
(Nectar : http://nectar.inetpsa.com). This glossary is constantly improved.
4. EXPRESSION ON DOCUMENTS
After the wording material, the symbol designation of a material main criteria is stated, completed by the symbol
designation of specific criteria if applicable, followed by the reference number of this norme.
The four main criteria are systematically completed, it is possible to use several codes for the same criterion by
separting them with a dash.
Example : 10/208M-210 E/30/41
Specific criteria are completed one after the other, in alphabetical order, separated by a forward slash. It is
possible to use several codes for the same criterion by separating them with a dash.
Example : A1/B1/F1-F2/I1
