Fear Not

This document summarizes a sermon about living without fear based on 1 Kings 17:19-16. It discusses how God asks believers to make leaps of faith like the widow in the passage. It provides three reminders for why believers should fear not: 1) they will be tried but God will not test beyond ability, 2) they will be supplied according to God's promises, and 3) living without fear glorifies God by showing his control. The conclusion exhorts living 2021 with power, love, and a sound mind free of fear and full of faith.

TITLE: LIVING BY FAITH “FEAR NOT”

VERSE: 1 Kings 17: 19- 16

BACKGROUND
- The woman is living with uncertainty #LIKE US
- She is aware that a prophet side by side with a prophet #LIKE US
- It is she is being asked to exercise a leap of faith #LIKE US

WHAT DO WE DO WHEN WHILE WE ARE LIVING BY FAITH WE ARE TASKED TO MAKE A LEAP

MESSAGE: FEAR NOT

13
And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and
bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son.
- As Christians one thing that we should appreciate is that we are not walking life with a GUIDE, and that
is our GOD

3 REMINDERS WHY WE SHOULD FEAR NOT

EVEN IF YOU FEAR NOT STILL; YOU WILL BE TRIED

13
And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and
bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son.
- Being tried by the Lord is not something that leads towards Sin but rather Spiritual Growth
o EXAMPLE : ABRAHAM – asked to move out of his comfort zone / asked to sacrifice his son
- You will not be tried beyond your ability (God Knows Who You are and your circumstances 1
Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful,
who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a
way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
- TAKE IT POSITIVE

IF YOU FEAR NOT; YOU WILL BE SUPPLIED

14
For thus saith the LORD God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail,
until the day that the LORD sendeth rain upon the earth.
- God has many promises and one of them is the PROMISE OF SUPPLICATION
(Matthew 7:7-8 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto
you)
- You may ask brother why it seems like it is not true: The Problem lies not His Promises, but because we
often forget the FIRST WORD in that verse : “ASK”
o Living life without prayer
o Prayer that is not specific
o Prayer that is against God’s Will
- CHANGE YOU’RE WAYS: Philippians 4:6 with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
PRAY FOR EVERYTHING

IF YOU FEAR NOT; GOD IS GLORIFIED

16
And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the LORD,
which he spake by Elijah.
- We are the Representation of God and God is not Glorified when we are anxious
- Every time we show fear it is as if we are saying that our God is not in control
o EXAMPLE: Martha Complains about Lazarus
o Israelites Complains in the Wilderness
- Jeremiah 29:11 11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace,
and not of evil, to give you an expected end
- GOD is in CONTROL

CONCLUSION: 2 Timothy 1:7

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
- This 2021 Let us live a life FREE OF FEAR AND FULL OF FAITH
