Classical Conditioning Explainn

Classical conditioning is a type of learning where an automatic conditioned response becomes associated with and elicited by a specific stimulus through repeated pairing. An example is students initially not responding when a teacher claps three times, but after the clapping is paired with an instruction to be quiet, the students will keep quiet upon hearing only the clapping. Operant conditioning involves learning through reinforcement or punishment of behaviors. Examples include a student doing homework for a reward, a teacher ignoring shouting but calling on raised hands, detention for lateness, and moving a student away from friends for talking during a test.

Classical conditioning is a type of learning that happens unconsciously.

When you learn through classical conditioning, an automatic

conditioned response is paired with a specific stimulus. This creates a
behavior.

Example:

 Before conditioning: If the teacher instruct the children to keep quiet

they keep quiet. But if the teacher claps three times, the students
will not keep quiet (ito po yung neutral stimulus and neutral stimulus
in classical conditioning does not produce a response until it is paired
with the unconditioned stimulus) .

 During conditioning: But when the teacher claps 3 times and instruct
the class to keep quiet, the students will keep quiet.

 After conditioning: After the daily association of the Neutral Stimulus

and unconditioned stimulus, the children keep quiet once they heard
the teacher clapping 3 times

Operant Conditioning
- Operant conditioning is the process of learning through reinforcement
(rewarded) and punishment.

Examples:

 Positive Reinforcement: A student will continue to do his/her

homework because he/she knows that he/she will be rewarded
with a candy or is praised by his/her parents or teachers if
he/she completes it.
 Negative Reinforcement: The teacher ignores a student who shouts out
answers but calls on him when he raises his hand.
 Positive Punishment: A student gets detention after being late for class
too many times.
 Negative Punishment: The teacher moves a student away from her
friend because she was talking during a test.
