Well completion means the conclusion of a borehole that has


been drilled. Completion is therefore the link between the
borehole and the production phase.
It involves all operations to make the well produce
- Connecting the borehole
- Treating the pay zone
- Equipping the well
- Putting it on string
- Accessing it
Measurement and maintenance operations (workover jobs) also
come under the heading of completion. Completion begins
with well positioning and ends at well abandonment.

To effectively drain out the reservoir fluids to the


surface - increase productivity and recovery

To provide subsurface and surface flow control


Increase asset value through cost optimization - well
completion cost represents one of the major
contributor to total wells expenditure in field
development
