G8 - 3rd Quarter Activities

The document outlines the activities for a 3rd quarter mathematics course. In week 1, students will define mathematical terms, determine whether statements are good definitions, justify mathematical axioms, and derive theorems from axiomatic systems. In week 2, the activities are not described. Week 3 involves proving statements.

3. What are axioms or postulates?
4. What are theorems?
5. What is/ are the difference/s of postulates and theorems
Activity 2
Tell whether each statement is a good definition.
1. A late student is a student who arrives after the bell rings.
2. A bicycle is a vehicle.
3. A triangle is a polygon with three sides.

2. 14 + 9 = 9 + 14
3. 0 + 15 = 15

7. 9 × (8 + 5) = (9 × 8) + (9 × 5)
8. 28 × 1 = 28
