Ward 5 Speed Limit Map Update

This document presents the final map for implementing a 40 km/h standard speed limit in Ward 5, with some collectors posted at 50 km/h, effective May 31, 2021. Roads in grey will retain their original speed limits. Existing playground and reduced speed zones will also remain unchanged, as will higher classification roads in downtown and industrial areas, which may be reviewed in the future.

All playground zones and existing reduced speed zones
will remain unchanged.

Higher classification roadways in the downtown area as


well as industrial areas are outside of the scope of the
work and will remain the same speed limit but merit future
review.

Review of these speed limits will be possible after


implementation based on the framework being developed
for review by council no later than Q3, 2021.
