Lesson Aims : By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to:
- Use properly the phrase” I”ve got a.....”and names of toys;
- Count from 1-10;
- Identify correctly each number;
- Correlate the written form in letters with the corresponding figure from 1-10;
- Use the newly aquired vocabulary in order to speak about numbers and toys;

Teaching aids: textbook (Fairyland 1), Fairyland 1 Language Portofolio, Fairyland 1 Resource
Pack, handouts, computer, speakers,OHD, slips of paper, coloured pencils, realia(toys)
Human resouces: mixed ability class

Assessment: oral, homework, systematic observation

Procedure :

1. Stage: Warm-up:
Time: 2”
Activity: Greetings, introductory conversation
Setting the right admosphere
Interaction:T→Ps, frontal

2. Feel in the bag (revision of the previously learned vocabulary)


Time: 5”
Activity: T pulls toys one by one out of a bag; Ps have to guess what toy is it seeing just a
small part of it. They use the expression: I”ve got a......, previusly learned. T displays all the
toys on the desk.

3. Introduction of the new topic


Time: 4”
Activity: What′s missing?(memory game)- T removes one toy at a time while Ps have their
eyes closed, they must identify the missing one. After a few drills, Ps have to count the toys
displayed on the desk. Thus they count from 1-10.

4. Practice:
Time: 10′
Activity: Ps get handout no1, from the Language Portofolio; they have to count and join the
results of the additions with the right word and picture denoting toys.
Then Ps do ex.2/p 37 in the textbook- they listen to the audio track and join the dots in order
to create a toy(a plane).
On slips of paper, Ps choose a no., write it down and then draw the same no of toys to
illustrate it. T calls them at the bb to form groups of 1′s, 2′, etc

5. Free practice(game)
Time: 15′
Activity: T creates teams of 4 ps. They get a worksheet(Numbers caterpillar- Teacher
Resource Pack-p 12). They cut the body parts and then have to create the caterpillar,
ordering the numbers from 1-10. The works are displayed on the bb.

6. TPR- I am a robot(sing and dance)


Time:5′
Activity: T introduces the song ”I am a robot” by demonstrating, using a realia i.e. a dancing
toy robot, the on/off positions and how a robot can move. Then she plays the song from
Genki english, vol. 11, Ps dance and have fun while imitating the movements of the dancing
robot.

7. Homework assignment and assesment
Time: 5′
Activity: T gives pupils the ”Toys book” to cut and colour as a hw for the next time, explains
the task giving clear instructions and makes sure everybody understood it. T praises the
children and gives high marks to the most active ones.
