Course Description
1) The course starts with the solution of Maxwell's equations in different
medii (free space- perfect dielectric, lossy medium, and good
conductor).
2) The calculation of the medium parameters (attenuation constant, the
propagation constant, and the medium impedance)
3) The students are able to calculate the reflection coefficients for
normal incidence, and oblique incidence for double and multilayers.
4) They differentiate between different polarizations, linear, circular and
elliptical polarizations.
5) They study the transmission equation, its primary and secondary
parameters. They obtain the relation between the input and output
impedances and solve these relations mathematically and graphically
using Smith chart.
6) The matching using single or double stub lines is done using Smith
chart.
