Debate: The students will debate the motion “That global free trade has done
more harm than good.”
People tend to abuse different things that are free without realizing it
and it will be worsened if we didn’t make a move to stop that, so that is why I
couldn’t agree more that global free trade has done more harm than good. I
must say that global free trade has done beneficial and impactful things not
just only to ourselves for our daily living but also to the economy of our
country well in fact we didn’t notice the harms that they bring to us. Global
free trade means it is a form of import and export without restriction, through
that we can ingress and transfer the goods and services without passing the
policy. In connection with that, illegal trade, country dependence, loss of
jobs, and pollution will arise. In illegal trade, fake products are connected to
that, like fake medicine some Filipinos chose a cheap international medicine
brand even if we didn’t know if that is authentic or FDA approved so instead
of recovering, another ill will exist. Furthermore, if we still being dependent
on another country, we can’t solve our economic problem on our own and
we became a puppet of other countries. Losing a job is also the harm of free
global trade if we let the foreign became dominant to us many Filipinos will
lose their jobs and our local businesses will stop. Since we are open to
foreign investors many companies and factories were built and because of
that, the pollution gets worse the greenhouse gases cause that. We can't
neglect the harm because it affects our life. The threat to our national
security, the Infant industry, and unfair competition we will always encounter
that if we didn’t give limitation the global trade. We can make a move; we
can make a better change if we want to and we can make a global trade
solely good.
