Shopee.
Shopee, a Sea company, and is an e-commerce company which was first launched in Singapore
in 2015, and has since expanded its reach to Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan, Indonesia, Vietnam and the
Philippines. Sea is a leader in digital entertainment, e-commerce and digital financial services across
Greater Southeast Asia. The founders saw it as a “mobile-centric” platform so that people who might
own smartphones but not a laptop could still access an online marketplace.
Technology plays a major role in Shopee. Shopee's sophisticated model relies on data to provide
valuable recommendations for buyers – a system powered by AI technology embedded into its mobile
app. In a similar way, data provides Shopee's brand partners with relevant insights to identify consumer
behavior, which in turn supports vendors' inventory management. AI enables merchants to leverage
cookie data and provide consumers with highly tailored offerings. By utilizing natural language
processing capabilities, image, video and audio recognition, retailers can home in on what it is their
customers really want. Clearly, there is no shortage of use cases for AI in e-commerce. The present
technology in every e-commerce also improves communication as both sellers and buyers are allowed
to get connected in every part of earth. With the use of internet, it also allows the company to reach a
larger scale of people within different parts of the globe.
E-commerce removes the need for physical shops and helps businesses to broaden their client base, and
will often save money on rentals, utilities, repairs, and other physical store-related expenses. Without
paying staff to watch over the shop and secure products 24/7. Since one is not limited to a fixed amount
of display space, the number of items that can be sold online is not limited, and the stock of the business
can grow exponentially. There will also be somewhere to store actual goods, but warehouse spaces are
often smaller than retail spaces, and you won't have to think about things such as foot congestion and
safety spaces. It is also simpler for e-commerce firms to stay in touch with consumers as well. It is
convenient to send out both automatic and personalized emails because the e-commerce retailer
collects contact information in the form of email. While its current drawback would be several laws and
charges that come with the launch of an e-commerce store (and a fair amount of confusion, as well).
The consequence is a regulatory mishmash that, no matter how complex, companies are accountable for
learning. And also, when dealing with online transactions, both surveillance and credit card scams are
also major threats. As customers will still face the risk of identity theft and related threats, they insert
their information on a website.
