1. Introduction to zoo management system
Zoological gardens provide an opportunity to open a whole new world of curiosity and interest, and
sensitize visitors regarding the value and need for conservation of wildlife.

Zoos were initially started for the entertainment of people. Gradually over the years, they have
come to play an important role in conservation. The goal of zoos is the conservation of animals in the
wild.

2. Problem statement
The idea to build this project is to fulfill various problems:-

i) Lack of information about various animals.

ii) When we visit any zoo then we are not aware that which animal is placed at which place or cage
number.

3. Objectives
This project will be conducted to fulfill following major objectives:-

i) This project is based on the various information related to the animals.

ii) In this project we can easily search the place and cage number where the various animals are
placed.

4. Scope and limitations
4.1 Scope

i) Visitors can search about zoo directly through this project.

ii) Can provide an educational resource to research about the various species.

iii)This project can save users time and money by visiting the site and take online
vision about the zoo.

4.2 Limitations

i) People who are unfamiliar with computer are not able to use this project.

ii) Daily updates is needed by means people can check the daily activities about the
species.

iii) Only limited information provided by this system.

5. Literature review

There are very few such web-based system at the present time but that is also not in our country . In
context of our country it is the first one. While looking on present such system I found the apps are
lacking many features that users are expecting. They are not able to give their best to users.

6. Methodology

Waterfall methodology is going to be used. The waterfall approach is ideal for projects that have
specific documentation, fixed requirements, ample resources, an established timeline and well-
understood technology.

In this project there is fixed requirement and specific documentation. The project is not
complex instead simple and easy to understand. This method clearly defines milestones and
deadlines. So waterfall methodology is going to be used to develop this project.

I. Requirement identification

Functional requirement

4
1) Admin should be able to add or modify the details of the animals.

2) User will be able to login and see the activities of the project.

3) Admin will be able to control the price of tickets.

4) Admin will be able to track the records of animals.

Non-functional requirement

1) Availability- It will be available whenever the system is needed.

2) Security- It will be secure.

3) Performance- It will be fast with good response.

4) Reliability- It will be reliable.

II. Feasibility study

Technical feasibility

The purpose course of action can be performed with the existing hardware, software and the
technical expertise. In short, it does not require any additional Hardware and Software.

Economics feasibility

The system that is being developed is economic, it is cost effective in the sense that it will eliminate
the paperwork and the project can be run. Also, the software and hardware resources required to
run the project is already available with us. No new system should be deployed thus, it is highly
economic.

Operational feasibility

The system is operational feasible since the user are familiar with the technologies and hence there is
no need to gear up the personnel to use the system. Also the system is very user friendly and easy to
use.
