Introduction and background
The aim of this work is the development of a solar photovoltaic generation system based on
a standard power electronics cell for micro grid applications. The proposed system is
capable to provide security of supply by delivering uninterrupted power to critical loads in
standalone operation and transition seamlessly between stand alone and grid connected
mode. To moderate the effect of variability of the generation and load demand a battery is
used to balance the power flow in the system [1].
At present, the power plants used in the world, generally still use fossil fuel power plants,
namely, coal. The fossil fuel consists of 18% gas, 30% coal, and 48% oil. It is well known
that fossil fuels will eventually run out because they cannot be renewed. Besides, air
pollution, global warming, and climate anomalies are negative impacts resulting from the
use of fossil fuel power plants. Based on these factors, a power plant that is derived from
renewable energy sources is developed, one of this is solar energy. The energy supply
produced by renewable energy tends to be more environmentally friendly. However, it is
necessary to increase technology and the willingness of various parties to make it happen,
so that electricity costs become competitive compared to fossil energy [2].
Studies on the planning and application of renewable energy power plants have been carried
out, the adaptive sliding mode control of a single-phase micro grid system to improve the
power quality of the standalone micro grid power system has been carried out. The micro
grid system integrates micro-hydropower plants, wind power plants, and solar power plants.
These renewable energy power plants are integrated using a single-phase voltage source
converter [3].
Problem Statement
Smart Grids represent a vision for the future of power distribution in which grid stability and
reliability are enhanced through reconfigurable control schemes operating across a wide
range of temporal and spatial scales. "Smart" grids use a network of computers to control the
grid's generation, load, and distribution assets. These computers communicate over large-
scale communication networks. These computer networks provide tighter and faster
coordination of geographically distributed grid components in a way that hopefully enhances
overall grid reliability.
The demand for electric energy is constantly increasing and conventional energy resources
are diminishing and are even threatened to be depleted. Moreover, their prices are rising. For
these reasons, the need for alternative energy sources has become indispensable and solar
energy in particular has proved to be a very promising alternative because of its availability
and pollution-free nature.
Due to the increasing efficiencies and decreasing cost of photovoltaic cells and the
improvement of the switching technology used for power conversion.
Objectives
The main objective of our project is to match capabilities to load requirements.
The paper presents analysis of multiple digestions features etc.
To avoid breaking of power.
And off course it is environmentally friendly.
Literature Review
Micro grids are localized power networks that allow the integration of distributed
generation resources to meet electrical loads of part or all the facilities present within the
networks. The micro grids can operate as standalone systems such as in remote locations or
as grid-connected networks to meet critical loads and mitigate grid disturbances. Even when
connected to the main or utility grid (or macro grid), micro grids should be able to operate
autonomously in island mode to provide higher reliability and resilience. Several distributed
generation resources can be considered for micro grids including fossil-fuel generation and
cogeneration systems as well as renewable resources such solar and wind technologies.
Other technologies can also be included in micro grids such as fuel cells, energy storage,
and load management systems[4].
Danish and et al discussed the micro-grid planning and designing for industry, academia,
utility operators, regulators, policy makers to publicize the new invention and existing
obstructions experienced by micro-grids in this century. Furthermore, there work had
presented the economical, technical, sustainability and managerial criteria. The micro-grids
project management had been discussed to guarantee the sustainability and resiliency in
provisions of its operation. These authors had made an effort to incorporate the real world
micro-grids by proposing the bilateral organization execution and design inventions for all
stake holders[5].
It was revealed that the energy-based micro-grids are far superior that the typical and
traditional micro-grids. They have an environmental advantage over the traditional for the
reason that of emissions of gases. Fossil fuel’s combustions result the atmosphere polluted
on high rate. The authors discussed the technique of minimizing of the CO 2 secretions and
its production in large amounts. A comprehensive economic analysis of conventional and
renewable-based micro-grids were carried out. Although the capital cost of the renewable-
based micro-grids are high but its environmentally friendly. The fuel and operation cost
were considered to be lesser as compared to conventional micro-grids[6].
In [7], Chen Hong, Zhong Huabing, and et al had studied the proficient methodology of
incorporation of distributed generation system and their advantages like a lesser amount of
pollution and varied investment. A series of standards were projected for the integration of
DER and EMS (Energy Management System) based upon on SVN (subversion) tools which
were applied on its control. They concluded that micro-grid control systems will enhance
the controlling, flexibility, decision support, transformation, publication and comparison.
Ananda B. Jadhav and Prof. S.H. Pawar had revealed the power management of a hybrid
structure that includes the DC micro-grid and AC grid. By using both as a hybrid will boost
the overall efficiency. A B2B (back to back) interlink had been used for enhancing the
performance, reliable and efficient transmission of a hybrid micro-grid. Also, the voltage
stability can be enhanced at fit circumstances
