FEED TILT
The aligning indicators show the direction in which feed is inclined in relation to the set tilt
and swing angles. The above illustration shows the angle differences indicated by the
lights.
In vertical drilling mode, the centremost lights turn off and the green light turns on when
the angle difference is less than the set value in SA3. The value in SA3 is common to both
tilt and swing readings.
In aligning mode, the lights indicate the tilt and swing angles of feed in the same way as
in vertical drilling mode. The green light for blasting direction goes on when the angle
difference is less than the SA1 setting, and the green light for blasting angle turns on when
the angle difference is less than the SA2 setting. When both blasting direction and blasting
angle (bench inclination) are correct and the green indicator lights are illuminated, the
lights of both indicator blocks are switched off even if the tilt and swing values were above
the SA3 setting.
When turning the feed to the correct position with the aid of the aligning indicators, always
first turn feed to the correct tilt angle, and then to the correct swing angle. This is necessary
because changing the swing angle does not affect tilt, whereas changing the tilt does also
change swing angle.

Replacing
Before connecting the sensor cables, connect the power supply cable and switch power
on. The display should now have two dots to indicate that the supply voltage and its polarity
are correct. If no dots are shown, the polarity of the power supply cable is incorrect, or the
voltage is missing.
Switch off supply voltage before connecting the sensor cables!
Adjustments
The central unit has no mechanical adjustments, but the basic software settings in
calibrating mode must always be done. They are listed in the ‘Calibration’ section of this
manual. If possible, use the calibrating data from the old operating panel or the calibration
records.
Service
Check that the cable connectors sit tight. Clean the ventilator once a year or as necessary.

The inclination angle sensors give information on the swing (X) and tilt (Y) angles of feed.
The sensor boxes house an electronic gravitation sensor element, that presupposes that
the sensors must always be mounted in the correct position as shown in the mounting
illustration.
Replacing
The swing sensor (X) is located on the feed cradle and the tilt sensor (Y) on the turning
cradle. The sensor positions are shown in the illustration.

The sensor measures the boom / upper carriage swing angle in relation to the carrier.
Replacing
Fasten the sensor, with its mounting plate, to the drilling rig frame and connect the swing
pin with the flexible mounting to the boom / upper carriage so that the measuring range
of the sensor covers the whole movement area of the boom / upper carriage.
The mounting parts have adjusting slots. Adjust the sensor axle centre in line with the
centre of the boom swing axle. Visual accuracy is sufficient.
Tighten the screws after adjustment and check tightness of the swing pin Allen screws.
Fill the connector housing of the sensor cable with non--conductive grease before
connecting it.
Calibrate as instructed.
Service
Check calibration of sensor at regular intervals. Also check the bearings, the shaft seal,
and the condition of the mounting screws and the cables.

Maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting
The drilling depth measuring sensor measures the travel of the feed mechanism chain /
cogged belt with a sprocket / belt pulley. A pulse wheel is connected to the sprocket / belt
pulley, and two inductive proximity switches are sensing its rotation. The sensor provides
information of both depth measuring and travel direction.
Replacing
Fasten the sensor unit and adjust the sprocket / belt pulley to run centrally on the feed
chain / belt. Tighten the mounting screws carefully after the adjustment.
Check on the type plate or visually that the sprocket of the new sensor is of the correct type.
Fill the connector housing of the sensor cable with non--conductive grease before
connecting it. Make sure that the cable is properly supported over its whole length.
Take in the switches with their cables into the sensor housing through the Canon
connector hole.
Fasten the Canon connector with screws secure its fastening with thread locking
compound and sealing with suitable sealing mastic.
Take the switches through the hole in the gasket to their respective places on the sensor

Use calibrating mode test display (switch over to calibrating mode and press )
to test the operation of the indicator lights and when the sensor rotates
slowly.
The signal can also be measured using an oscilloscope or a voltmeter, between the
terminals J7: 2(sign. A), 3(sign. B), and 4(--) of the central unit.
If a sensor signal is missing or is constantly on, it is likely that the fault is in the cables or
the inductive switches.
To test the cable:
-- Turn control voltage on and switch over to calibrating mode test display (in
-- Touch cable connector contact D with test probe point. Indicator light should
go on.
-- Touch cable connector contact C with test probe point. Indicator light should
go on.
-- If an indicator light is constantly illuminated or not working at all, disconnect cable
W8 from the operating panel. If indicator lights now go off, the fault is in the cable.
-- Touch cable connector contact Ewith probe point. Probe bulb should now light.
-- Using test probe, check if there is operating voltage between contacts B (--GND)
and E (+).
