Performance Task
SC 2015 Standards:
G.GCI.2: Identify and describe relationships among inscribed angles, radii, and chords; among
inscribed angles, central angles, and circumscribed angles; and between radii and tangents to
circles. Use those relationships to solve mathematical and real-world problems.
G.GGPE.1: Understand that the standard equation of a circle is derived from the definition of a
circle and the distance formula.
ACT Standards:
ACT D. 3. b. Determine the measure of central and inscribed angles and their intercepted arcs
ACT D. 3. c. Find segment lengths, angle measures, and intercepted arc measures formed by
chords, secants, and tangents intersecting inside and outside circles
ACT G. 1. d. Write equations for circles in standard form and solve problems using equations
and graphs
Objective:
Apply the properties of central angles, inscribed angles, and arcs of circles to solve problems
Apply the properties of lines that intersect circles (including two secants, two tangents, and a
secant and a tangent) to solve problems
Write the equation of a circle given the radius and center or center and point on the circle
Due Date: March 27th /March 28th (10 points will be taken off per day that it is late!)
Section: Criteria Earned/Total Points

Create a game or activity that is directly related to what we have learned about circles.
Your game must have a name, materials, and instructions. You must also bring in all
necessary pieces of your game. Bonus points will be awarded for creativity if it blows
me away!
