It looks like I can't OTA to ND3 anymore. The software update
gets me 160MB update directly from NCE reflash.

That's not a bad thing/ I can create a "KeepRoot" zip for it. Can
you pull it from your cache/fota folder and upload it and send

Yes. If you have any trouble re-installing safestrap using the apk
just install SELinux Mode Changer from the Playstore and set to
permissive.
