Proposal

Rationale

I have decided to make 2 productions, one is a short film and the other being a stop motion
animation. The short film has to be between 5-10 minutes and the stop motion has to be from 1-2
minutes with 24 frame per second. The target audience that I have chosen for these 2 productions
are from 40-60 year olds as I would find It easier to do. However I haven’t done a production for 40-
60 year olds but it will be a good way to test my skills and expand my skills in different scenarios. The
genre that I am choosing for my short film is crime/thriller this I have done before for my previous
short films so it is something that I am familiar with also I can reuse the techniques from my previous
short films. The target audience will help in the future since I haven’t done it before so it will help my
experience and will further develop my techniques for different type of target audiences. For my
stop motion I will be doing something similar to my short film and I would be using the same genre
crime as most of my target audience enjoy justice being served

Project Concept

For this project I will be looking into what my target audience are interested in, I will ensure that my
productions. I’m choosing a short film since in my previous unit I had learnt new skills in
cinematography. I enjoy cinematography the most so I had researched a variety of techniques that I
can now demonstrate the techniques I had learnt into this production. Short films will help me
display my techniques more since ive done short film before so I have a slight understanding on how
to produce a short film. For my other production I had chosen a stop motion, I have chosen this since
I have also done a stop motion before which means I can develop new techniques and also use the
previous techniques from before and use them into this stop motion. I also have a set ready for a
Lego stop motion from my previous work therefore I can use it again for this production. I had learnt
that some of my target audience enjoy justice being served also a hint of comedy so I can use the
short film for a crime on the other hand I can use the stop motion for the comedy section

Evaluation

For my evaluation I had decided to evaluate myself every week. This will help my markers know
where I’m at every week also this will help me keep track of where I am at and therefore improve
my time management as a whole. The weekly blogs will be detailed so my assessors know what I
have done that whole week and it will be a form of self-evaluation. At the end of the whole project I
will be doing a full evaluation which will be very detailed and step by step it will describe the process
that I had gone through in order to produce my production. The evaluation will be like a essay type
and it will be very in depth so my marker will be able to mark it correctly. In my evaluations I will also
say my strengths and what I could improve on. I will include my survey results to show how my
production will appeal to my target audience
