MASTERPIECES OF THE WORLD LITERATURE


Course Title: Masterpieces Of The World Literature
No. of Units: 3 Units
Course Description:
This is a wide overview of the major works of world literature which centers on details of some of the biggest names and works in and beyond the
history of Western literature. In all cases, this course will take time to survey the general traditions of literature of various nations and its most
important literary pieces.

Learning Outcomes:
At the end of the course the students should be able to:
A. Competencies
1. Explain the importance of learning different literary pieces of different nations to deepen their appreciation to literature.
2. Identify the essential ideas in learning literature.
3. Familiarize with the famous writers of the world and their contribution to world literature.

B. Skills
1. Tell stories in an engaging and meaningful manner.
2. Develop, practice and sharpen their written and verbal communication skills.
3. Answer possible LET questions.

c. Values
1. Enhance their general and close reading skills in approach to the challenging texts.
2. Gain ideas depicted from those literary pieces that have been discussed to deal with what real life situations will cater them.

Number of Hours: 3 Hours every week for 18 weeks or 54 hours in a semester.
