Anti-Reflux System User Manual

This document provides an overview and instructions for configuring and using an anti-reflux system for grid-connected PV systems. The system uses a ShineWebBox data logger and anti-reflux power meters to monitor voltage and current from the transformers in real-time and adjust the inverter output to prevent excess electricity generated by the PV systems from feeding back into the main power grid. When reflux power exceeds 1KW, the inverters reduce output, and when load power is above 2% of maximum inverter capacity, the inverters increase output.

Anti-reflux System User Manual

1 Overview
For the grid-connected PV systems at low voltage distribution network, grid companies
usually require PV system to be non-reflux system, namely electricity generated by PV
systems should be consumed only by local loads, and excess electricity is not allowed to
feed back to upper level power grid via transformers.

In the grid-connected PV system, external environment is constantly changing, in order to

prevent power flow back to the grid, an anti-reflux power meter need to be configured,
data logger monitors the voltage and current at the low voltage output of transformer
real-timely and adjust output of the PV system accordingly, thus to realize anti-reflux
function.

 The anti-reflux function starts 5 minutes after the first inverter is monitored, from then
on Webbox monitors related parameters every 5 seconds to prevent power reflux when
inverter output is adjusted, there’s a time delay of 15s till the next anti-reflux
monitoring(inverter adjusting time ).

 When reflux power exceeds 1KW (energy flow back to the grid, showed in minus
value on the display) the inverter starts to reduce its output power.

 Load gets power from the grid higher than 2% of the inverter maximum capacity
(positive value displayed for power quantity), Webbox increases output of inverter.

3 Operating Instruction
ShineWebBox with software version 2.2 or later has anti-reflux function, anti-reflux device
includes a data logger ShineWebBox and anti-reflux power meters, the two devices work
together to realize anti-backflow function, operating instruction is as below:

1、Enter the IP address in web browser to open ShineWebBox page, click the
PARAMETER bar, input power meter address and change status to ON, then click save
as showed in figure 3-1, anti-reflux function started.

Power Meter's address & stutas

2
Power Meter's address & stutas

figure 3-1Input address of power meter and set status to ON

2、Set the meter address to 38 according to the anti-reflux power meter's manual, set the
voltage and current ratio according to the plant voltage and current., Keep the default
value of other parameters. Refer to manual of anti-reflux power meter, part 3.4

3、CT wiring of power meter should make sure current flow to load is the positive
direction( CT current P1-> P2),please refer to Appendix A, and manual of power meter
part 2.3 for details.

4、ShineWebBox adjust output of inverter(reduce or increase) according to the active

power monitored by power meters to realize anti-reflux function , terminal 2 of
ShineWebBox should be connected to A+ terminal of power meter and terminal 4 should
be connected to B- of power meter

5、 ShineWebBox sends the inverter parameters to ShineStation for remote monitoring

6、According to Figure 3-1, Ammeter_ON means Shine WebBox can upload the
parameters from power meter, such as active power, reactive power, power quantity etc.

Other wiring such as RS485 or power supply input please refer to user manual part2.3

4. Function checking

The anti-reflux function starts 5 minutes after the first inverter is monitored by Webbox,
check if the function is started correctly according to the following instruction: after
finishing the installation, shutdown local load, if Webbox send signal to inverter to
reduce its output to 0, then the function is OK.
