Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Due Date: 12-03-2020

Instructions:
Please read the following instructions carefully before submitting this Hands-on Exercise:
• Use MS Word to prepare exercise solution.
• You may consult tutorials and videos if the concept is not clear.
• Your submitted exercise will not be considered/counted if:
▪ It is submitted after due date.
▪ It is not in the required format (.doc or .docx)
▪ It does not open, or file is corrupt.
▪ It is copied (partial or full) from any source (websites, forums, students, etc.)

Learning Outcome:

After completing this exercise, you shall be able to:

• Perform keyword research.


• Use Google Ads’ Keyword Planner tool.
Problem Statement:

Select a business website of your own choice. Open “Keyword Planner” tool through Google Ads
Account. Click on “Discover New Keywords” and then click on “Start with a Website”. Enter name of the
chosen website and click on “Get Results”. Keyword Planner tool will display all the possible search
results. Shortlist the 5 most relevant keywords with Low Competition and more Average Monthly
Searches. Take screenshots of the displayed result keywords from the “keyword planner” tool.
Then create a MS Word document in which you will paste the name of the selected business, URL of the
selected website, list of shortlisted keywords and screenshot of your work on the tool.
You can choose any authentic business website. It can be an ecommerce store, restaurant, clothing brand,
travel agency, IT consultancy, etc.

Tasks:
1. First, select a business website of your own choice.
2. Open Google Keyword Planner tool by visiting https://ads.google.com/.
3. Click on “Discover New Keywords” and then click on “Start with a Website”.
4. Enter the name of chosen website and click on “Get Results”.
5. After this, shortlist 5 keywords which have Low Competition and more Average Monthly Searches
from the displayed results of the tool and paste them in the word document, also paste screenshots of
the displayed result from the tool.
6. Submit the exercise.

Instructions:

You can take any website from the internet, complete all tasks, and then submit Hands-on Exercise in
MS word document file.

NOTE:

• You can follow the Topic Video 33 for the solution.
