1.1 Preface
Dear Customer,
Thank you for purchasing this exciting high definition multimedia player with powerful
functions. It can bring you the pleasant music and movie enjoyment. With stylish, simple
and elegant design, It will be a perfect match with your home appliances like Hi-Fi, flat
TV, and amplifier. We have also integrated the most popular BT download function for
you to search and download movies on Internet. Enjoy instant music, video and photo
playback on your TV and share them with your family and friends!

Main Functions of This Product:

1.3 Precautions for Use


We have well considered the personal safety issues upon designing and manufacturing
this production. Please read the following information carefully before usage.
1.3.1 Precautions for Use
Users can not make any changes to this product. If it is using for the commercial hard
disk, please use this player at the temperature range of -5oC-+40oC.

1.3.2 Use of Power Supply


Operating voltage of this product: 12V
Before use, please connect the power adapter or power cable to the corresponding
mains socket on this product. Make sure the power cable is located correctly, and free
from any damage or pressure to prolong the service life of adaptor or power cable. To
minimize the danger of electric shock, please unplug the power supply from the socket
before cleaning it. Never use the power adapter or power cable to connect with this
product in the moist and dusty conditions and never change the power cable and plugs
of power adapter or power supply.

1.3.3 Maintenance
1. Do not attempt to disassemble the product and accessories including the AC power
adaptor (internal high-voltage, dangerous), so as to avoid unnecessary damage of
product or the risk of electric shock; For maintenance, please contact the professional
maintenance person.
2. Do not let any liquid flow into the product in order to avoid electric shock or damage
to product; if that happens, please turn off the power immediately, wipe it clean and
let it dry out before usage.
3. For electricity conservation and safety considerations, please unplug the power
adaptor from the power socket after usage.
4. Do not place or use this product in high temperature, humidity and vibration
environments.
5. Do not use chemicals or cleaning agents to clean the product, so as not to damage
the product's surface.
6. The batteries in the remote control are expendable, when the power is exhausted,
please replace the batteries with new ones of the same type and dispose the wasted
batteries properly. If the remote control is not used for a long period of time, please
remove the batteries from it.

1.5 Installation of Hard Disk

(1) Pull out the hard drive drawer's bracket. (2) Prepare a 3.5” SATA hard drive.

(3) Put the bracket on the hard drive. (4) Press the two fasteners by your fingers and
insert the bracket with hard drive.

(5) Please make sure the bracket it's in (6) Loosen the fasteners and finish the hard

1.6 Instructions of Connections


1.6.1 Connect to a TV Set
This product provides various video connection for you, By applying different video input,
you can have different video quality output. As your display device may be supported, it's
recommended you select the one with higher quality of video signal transmission in order
to enjoy a better image effect when you are watching your favorite movies.

1.6.1.1 Composite AV Connection


Connection as following steps:
(1) Connect one end of tri-color port to A/V OUT port of this product as per the figure.
(2) Connect the other end of tri-color port to A/V input port of the TV set as per the
figure In this way the contents of this product play backed can be output to the TV
set and other devices for preview.

1.6.1.2 Component Video YPbPr Connection
Connection as following steps:
(1) Connect one end of tri-color port to Y/PB/PR OUT port of this product as per the figure.
(2) Connect the other end of tri-color port to Y/PB/PR port of the TV set as per the figure.

Helpful tips: YPbPr Port has only video signals output, so please connect audio output to
a speaker or other sound device at the same time when using YPbPr mode.
Method 1: Use the A/V OUT to output the audio signal
Method 2: Use SPDIF digital audio output the audio signal.
If you want to connect this player to a power amplifier, please refer to the
relative connection methods in Item 1. 5. 2—Digital Audio System for the
details (It's recommended to apply this method).

1.6.1.3 HDMI Connection
Connection as following steps:
(1) Connect one end of HDMI port to HDMI output port of this product as per the figure.
(2) Connect the other end of HDMI port to the corresponding HDMI display device as
per the figure.

Helpful tips: In a long service distance, it can always obtain the most integrated data
output by using a high-quality HDMI cable.

1.6.2 Connect to a Digital Audio System


SPDIF has been used to output digital audio files which may bring you a live music
enjoyment.
This product provides coaxial and optical connection methods.

Connection as following steps:
(1) Connect one end of coaxial cable to the coaxial output port of this product as per
the figure
(2) Connect the other end of coaxial cable to the coaxial input port of corresponding
power amplifier as per the figure

Connection as following steps:
(1) Connect one end of optical cable to the optical output port of this product as per
the figure.
(2) Connect the other end of optical cable to the optical fiber input port of corresponding
power amplifier as per the figure.

Helpful tips: To use the power amplifier to output the audio signal, please set
OUTPUT in settings as SPDIF LPCM or Source Code”. Please refer to
Item “5. 1 Change the Voice Settings in Chapter V” for the detailed
functions.

1.6.3 Connect to LAN


Connection as following steps:
(1) Connect one end of network cable to the network port of this product as per the figure
(2) Connect the other end of network cable to network port of corresponding router as
per the figure

1.6.4 Connect a USB Device


Connection as following steps:
(1) Make sure that this product is in ON status.
(2) Connect the USB device to USB HOST port.

Helpful tips: the Wireless Network Card for USB is an optional accessory and not all
wireless Network cards sold on the market can be used for this player.
Please consult with the sales when you wish to make the best use of this
product.

1.6.5 Connect to a Computer


By connecting this player to your computer, you can control and manage the files in the
hard disk of this player.
Connection as following steps:
(1) Insert one end of USB cable into the USB port of this player;
(2) Insert the other end of USB cable into the USB HOST port on your computer.

Then in the taskbar of computer it will indicate a new hardware is founded and
soon it will indicate the new hardware may be used normally.
Open “My Computer” and a new disk icon will appear and you can operate the
files on the hardware.
Please refer to the computer instructions to format the hard disk. (It's not
recommended the user to use other software to partition the hard disk of this
player).

1.6.6 Connect the Power Supply
Connection as following steps:
(1) Connect the input end of power adapter to the DC-IN of this product as per the figure.
(2) Connect the power adapter plug end to the main socket.

II. First use


2.1 Power On/Off
2.1.1 Power on
After this product is connected with power cable and video cable, slightly press
POWER key to power on and the indicator lamp will turn from red to blue and
access the system after a moment.

2.1.2 Power Off


Press POWER key on the player when it is in working state to enter into standby
state. The screen may turn black or flicker, etc. During power-off and after the
system is shut off completely, the standby indicator lamp on the front panel will
turn red to indicate that you can unplug the power supply safely.

2.2 Remote Control

1. Mute: turn on / off the sound
2. Power: power on/ off
3. Menu: Press it during DVD play to display DVD
navigation menu.
4. Title: Press it during DVD play to display DVD title.
5. EJECT: Control the ejection of DVD floppy.
6. Angle: Press it during DVD play to select
differetn DVD visual angles; (only available
for playing DVD movies with angle mark).
7. TV System: Switch the output mode of
video signals.
8.Repeat: It supports to repeat Title, Chapters,
all files and close REPEAT
9.OPTION: Pop up the OPTION menu, you
can delete or change the folder or file name.
10. ZOOM: Zoom in movies or pictures
11.Numbers: Keys in numbers 0 – 9
12. Copy: one key to enter the copy
interface.
13.GOTO: Press it during video play to select
a time period to play.
14. Home: Return to the Main Interface

Press them during play to adjust the sizes and
vertical positions of plug-in text subtitles; press
them during picture play to move the viewing
position after zooming in and out.

18.INFO: Press it in media play mode to display the current chapter, play time and file name
19.Select: Press it in COPY menu to select the file to be copied and in PREVIEW menu to
select the file to be added into the Play List
20.Confirm: Play this key to confirm the current operation.
21.Subtitle: Press it during movie play to call out the subtitle menu
22.VOL: Press it to adjust the volume +/-
23.Audio: Press it during multi-track audio play to switch over different tracks. Press it
during ordinary audio and video file play to switch over different channels.
24.FR/ FF: Press it in media play mode for FR/ FF. Press PLAY to resume tothe normal
mode
25.Previous/ Next: Press it during media file play to play the Previous/ Next file; Press
it during IFO file play to select Previous /Next Chapter
26.Play: Press it to play the current media file.

27.Stop: Press it to stop the media file being played at present.

2.3 Hard Disk Format and Language Setting


2.3.1 Hard Disk Format
The users purchasing for this product without the hard disk shall refer to the Hard Disk
Formatting content of 5. 4 Change the System Settings to install the built-in SATA hard
disk for the first time.

2.3.2 Language Setting


You can set various languages in the User Interface of this product.
Please refer to the specifications of 5. 4 Change the System Settings in Chapter V for
details. The set languages will come into effect immediately.

III. Introduction of Functions


3.1 Main Interface

Press Search key to skip to the selected
time period or chapter and start to play;
Press Subtitle key to select the plug-in subtitle;
Press Track key to switch to the track inside
the movie;
Press ZOOM key to zoom in the image.
(ZOOM Ratio : 1X, 2X, 3X, 4X, 8X)

Helpful tips:
1. In case of messy codes displayed during playing some subtitle files, press Subtitle
key to show the Subtitle menu and modify the corresponding character set codes
and it will display normally;
2. In case of no audio output during playing some movies, switch the AUDIO to other
channels and if it still fails, please try to decode by power amplification; (Please refer
to 1. 5. 4 Connect to the Digital Audio System for connection means; and refer to
5. 1 Change the Voice Settings for the setup);
3. All supported movie files will be displayed in this application.

3.3.2 Browse Music

1. It will automatically start the slide mode when the picture is displayed in full screen;
2. You can also preview pictures as appreciate music;
3. All supported picture files will be displayed in this application.

3.5 Access LAN


This product is furnished with LAN stream media play function; please refer to 3. 3. 4
Browse All and select Network function to preview the shared media files in LAN.
Prior to reading the following contents, please correctly connect the Ethernet or wireless
network and set up the network parameters with reference to 5. 3 Change the Network
Settings, and ensure the smooth communications between this product and computer
in LAN.
Select NETWORK option from PREVIEW menu and browse the files on Internet via
two methods as following.
Method 1: Press Local Working Group to find the computer you want to access and
browse the targeted file.
Method 2: Press My Shortcuts to set the IP address of computer you want to access
and browse the targeted file.

3.5.1 Access by Work Groups

and press CONFIRM key to access this working
group;
Press Up/ Down keys to select the computer
you want to access from the working group

file to be played from the computer
directory and press CONFIRM key to
access full screen play mode.

Helpful tips: the working group or computer will not be displayed in the list subject to
the different network states sometimes.
Then it's recommended that you can preview by My_ Shortcuts.

3.5.2 Access by My Shortcuts

and press CONFIRM key to access into

to pop up the functional menu;
Select ADD option.

3.6 Rename and Delete the Files/ Folders
In the application of Preview Files, you can delete or rename the files or folders

Rename the Files/ Folders Operating Methods

In the application of Preview Files;


Press Up/ Down keys to select the files
or folders to be renamed;
Press EDIT key to pop up the functional
menu;
In the functional menu, Press Up/Down
keys to select RENAME and pop up the
soft keypad;

In the software mode;


Use the navigation keys to input and
after input, press OK key to confirm.

Delete the Files/ Folders Operating Methods

In the application of Preview Files;


Press Up/ Down keys to select the files or
folders to be deleted;
Press EDIT key to pop up the functional
menu;
In the functional menu, Press Up/ Down
keys to select DELETE option and press
CONFIRM key.

3.7 Play List


With Play List function, you can add your favorite media files into the list to play.

In the application of Preview Files,


Press the Left/ Right keys to select the
file types of browser on the screen;
Press Up/ Down keys to select the files
to be added into the Play List;
Press SELECT key to mark the files;
Press CONFIRM key to add the marked
files into the Play List.

Delete the files in the Play List:


Access into the Play List, move the cursor to the files to be deleted and press
SEELCT key to mark them and after having marked, press CONFIRM key to
delete them.
Helpful tips: To use the Play List, you must format you internal HDD in “setup”
mode first.

3.8 UPNP
UPNP, Multi-media Network Shared Server, you can play the files which are shared in
UPNP device in the network.
A built-in UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) client has been integrated on the system,
which enables the player to auto-detect UPnP Media Servers on the network to
browse and stream media files from them.

Installing UPnP Media Server on your PC


There're a lot of free and commercial UPnP Media Server software, such as Windows
Media Connect, Windows Media Player 11, Please install it on you computer. In the
following chapters, we will take Windows Media Player 11 on Microsoft Windows XP
SP2 for an example.

Sharing Media on your PC


The Media Sharing feature of Windows Media Player 11 lets you enjoy the contents of
your Windows Media Player library from anywhere in your home.
- Open Windows Media Player 11, click Library -> Add Library -> Advanced Options
to add or remove media files from the library.

- Click Library -> Media Sharing, then you can allow or deny devices to access
the media library. Click Allow to authorize your player.

Streaming Media on your Player


- Connect your player to the home network (LAN or WLAN).
- Visit Browser - > UPnP menu on the player, select the UPnP-server, and press
ENTER.

Helpful tips:
Make sure your player and your computer are on the same local area network and
subnet.
Firewalls may prevent your player to communicating with your computer. Please
open the ports manually and add your player to the 'trusted' list, or disable the
firewall temporarily.

IV. BT Download
For this function, you have to use the built-in hard disk and format the hard disk in
Setup-> System-> Format Hard Disk menu; then install and operate the corresponding
software in the extended information.

4.1 Login Web Management Page (unicgi)


Please make sure the player has been connected to the network and check if the player
has obtained an IP address in SETUP-> Network Setup menu. You can input the IP
address obtained by the player in IE address column on your computer like 192. 168. 3. 1.
Then you can access Web Management Page on your computer.

4.2 Account Management


Tap the Account Management in the management interface.

On this page, you can set a login password.
Note: The password will come into effect when the Setup-> System-> Login
Control menu is accessed.
The default username is 'admin' and default password is '123'.

4.3 Access the Network Neighborhood (samba)


- click Visit Neighbor and the system will access into the built-in hard disk
of player.
- Then you can browse and edit the contents in the player hard disk.

4.4 BT Download(btpd)
BitTorrent client of btpd is running in the background operating mode; you can
operate it in Web management page.
On the Web management page, tap BitTorrent Download to access into
BitTorrent download page.

4.4.1 Add New BT Seeds
Click Add new torrent on BT Download page to add BT seeds.

Click Browse to browse and upload the torrent files and then tap YES to confirm.

4.4.2 Download Management


On Bit Torrent download interface, you can startup, stop or delete BT seeds and set the
prior seed download and check the current seed state.

- Click Start key to start downloading.


- Click Stop key to stop downloading.
- Click Delete key to delete the selected BT seed.
- Click Refresh key to refresh the current status.
- Click DOWN arrow to download the selected BT task later.
- Click UP arrow to download the selected BT task in priority.

4.4.3 BT Settings
Tap Setting in BT Downloading interface to access into BT settings interface.

In BitTorrent setup interface, you can set the following items.
- set the maximum download speed.
- set the maximum upload speed.
- set to automatically skip to the next BT task when a certain BT task has no
downloading flow within the set time period.
- set the upload time after download is completed.
- set to automatically delete or not delete the downloaded BT seeds.
- set the maximum quantity of downloaded task at the same time.

V. Setup

VII. Network Attached Storage(NSA)


This product may serve as the network storage device (NAS, Network-Attached Storage).
Put it into your family network to make it convenient for you to store and manage the data
on LAN.
Before using this function, please make sure the network (Ethernet or wireless network)
has been connected correctly. Input the \\IP address in the address column of STARTUP
-> RUNNING or the browser of Windows operating system and then press Enter key on

the keypad to access the built-in hard disk on the player from the computer on LAN. For
example, input \\192. 168. 0. 11 if the player IP address is 192. 168. 0. 11.)

With this method, you can access into any partitions on the hard disk of the player, you
can manage, copy or store the data in the player on LAN.

VIII. Firmware Upgrade


Firmware refers to the operating system (OS) on this product. Regularly upgrade the
firmware to updated functions, improve and troubleshoot. You can check the current
firmware version as per the following steps:
1. Select SYSTEM in the Setup menu;
2. The version number displayed after Software Upgrade option is selected is the
current firmware version;
3. Compare it with the firmware version published recently.
Please download the firmware programs with updated versions from the official websites.
Step 1: Prepare the USB DISK
Please extract the downloaded firmware programs with the updated version to the root
directory of USB disk as shown below.

Step 2: Connect the USB DISK


Connect the prepared USB Disk onto the USB HOST port of player.
Step 3: Enter into Software Upgrade menu
Enter Settings →System →System Upgrade option.

After the operation has been confirmed, the system will be restarted and the System
Upgrade interface will be displayed on the screen shown as below:

The whole installation will last for approximately 2 minutes; please wait for it patiently.
The player will be restarted after installation. Then you can use all functions of this
player normally and experience the unequalled multimedia enjoyment.
Remarks:
Never disconnect the power supply during installation;
Never unplug the USB disk during installation.
Note: Please do not power off during the installation process;
During the installation process, do not unplug the U disk.
