GUIDELINES
The Online Open-Book End-Term Examinations for B. Tech. IV, III, II and I B.
Tech. (VIII, VI, IV and II Sem. respectively) students would be in the form of an
Online Open- Book Examinations conducted via Google Classroom/any other
online platform.

a) Max. Marks: As per the marks assigned to the subject in the UD scheme.
b) Paper-pattern:
i) Final B. Tech. VIII Sem.: Eight questions of 10 marks each with no
external and internal choice.
ii) For other semesters.:
Subject with 2 credits: Eight questions of 10 marks each with no external
and internal choice.
Subject with 3 credits: Eight questions of 15 marks each with no external
and internal choice.
Subject with 4 credits: Eight questions of 20 marks each with no external
and internal choice.
iii) Students should limit the number of Answer sheets to 10 i.e. 20 pages.
1. The faculty members will create a google class room/any other online mode of
all registered students in a course to ensure that all students get the question
paper from the same id. The students are required to submit the answer sheets
on the same online platform of the same faculty member.
2. The faculty members shall also be a member of the same online platform so
that they will have the permission to send the question papers to students.
3. The answer sheet submission id should be clearly written in the question paper
itself so that there is no cross transmission of answer sheet to the students.
4. The question paper can be sent as a PDF exactly at the beginning of the
scheduled time of the exam.
5. Students must be instructed to submit the answer sheets within 30 minutes
after the completion of the exam time. The students shall create a PDF file using
a scanner app available with them.
6. The PDFs of answer sheets can be downloaded with the same facility by the
faculty members and evaluate the answer scripts and submit the marks.
7. Preferably, the question paper should be lengthy so that students do not find
much time for unfair means. It is reminded that we have relative grading and
therefore length of the question paper will not affect the evaluation/grading.
8. The following instructions may be placed on the question paper after the
heading:
a. Students must answer all the questions in the same order as listed in the
question paper
b. Students must use A4 size sheets to write the answers and must use
legible alphabets to enable the faculty member to clearly read the same.
c. The students must scan the answer scripts using a scanner app to create
a PDF file.
d. The PDF of scanned answer scripts can be submitted only to faculty
member on online platform.
e. The answer sheets will be subjected to plagiarism check and answer
sheets with a level of similarity above a certain threshold will be
summarily considered copied and will be referred to Unfair Means
committee (UFM).
f. The answer sheets which are submitted after the deadline will also attract
a penalty of marks. The answer sheets submitted after 30 minutes will not
be evaluated.
g. If two or more answer sheets have common copied text, all such answer
sheets will not be evaluated.
h. The time table of the examination will be notified by the examination
section of University departments to all students and to all concerns well
in time.
i. HoDs will ensure the completion of conduct of examination, evaluation
and submission of awards of students to examination section within three
days of completion of examinations.
