Vision and Scope for <Project> Page 1

1. Business Requirements
My TGuide is a free tourism-guide application (with built-in features which can be purchased)
for the people who love travelling. It will provide them with several features which are missing
in the present tourism application ranging from live location access, continuous weather updates,
exploration of new/hidden places, sharing of the stories, re-planning, planning of trips as per
their interest and chat area within the application.

1.1. Background
Travel apps that are available on the internet just plan the trips. No interest-based searching is
facilitated through these apps, you must find the place where you want to go all by yourself.
Secondly, if any calamity occurs like landslide, heavy-rain, or road blockage, etc. These apps
will just notify you that you must cancel the trip. Furthermore, the travel apps available act as
static apps, they do not grow their destination spots. The travel apps do not address the issue of
finding hidden/new places and yet they remain hidden. Many apps available in the market don’t
allow where people can chat with users and ask about their experiences with the app or their
tourism experience that will help them decide to go on a particular venture or not. In these apps,
weather updates are given at a specific time like before the trip. Often, weather conditions keep
changing so when you do go there; travelers experience a lot of difficulties.

1.2. Business Opportunity

The system proposed in this project is a real-life problem solver for the travel interested people.
It will allow travelers to have fun touring and finding out new destinations. They can share their
stories with others and find out places and people of their interests easily. The planning features
will solve the problem of spending a lot of time in planning and finding destinations according to
their interests. The Artificial Intelligence-based system will match the interests of users of the
app and will suggest like-minded people and places. In case of any disaster, it will also re-plan
for the same user. With its live location feature, travelers can easily share and follow each other
on their journey and thus decreasing the possibility of tourists scattering and all-time updates on
each user’s location. Users can access the app from any mobile phone. Our system will also
allow the app user to chat on the same platform thus minimizing the switching platform
difficulty and further provide recommendations for their next tour. It will also enable them to
collaborate with other travelers in the community, maintain their profile, and share their travel
experience. The user will add the hidden places that they found on their journey and will add this
to the newly found places category. Throughout the trip, weather updates will be provided so that
any change in weather is handled priorly. The tourists will be kept updated about the news and
events happening around the area.

1.3. Business Objectives

BO-I: Reduce the percentage of cancellation of trips by 50% following the initial release.

1.5. Vision Statement

For individuals who love travelling and are facing certain difficulties in the presently existing

the travelers to relish additional features like live location access, continuous weather updates,
exploration of new/hidden places, sharing of the stories, re-planning, planning of trips as per
their interest and chat area within the application. Unlike present tourism applications which do
not offer previously mentioned features, the My TGuide will allow them to enjoy all the missing
features and will increment their chances of opting for My TGuide as their tourism assistant.

1.6. Business Risks

RI-I: The tourist guides may gather up to form a resistance to this application as it will lead to
the loss of their jobs by replacing their roles.

RI-2: Too less tourists may know the application resulting in the least ROI.

RI-3: The drivers may not agree to offer their driving services in the locations at the end
moment.

RI-4: The internet service of the user may be affected leading them to not savor the possible
functionalities of the application.

1.7. Business Assumptions and Dependencies

AS-1: The drivers will be available 15 min prior to the requested trip timings.

AS-2: Trips will be scheduled at least 24 hours before.

AS-3: The application will have an aesthetically good interface for the user to be able to access
it in a suitable manner.
