ECE6203 Analytical and Computational Methods in Engineering: Dr. Rajaveerappa Devadoss

Finite precision arithmetic and numerical errors are discussed in this chapter. Numerical errors occur due to rounding and truncation when real numbers are represented using a finite number of digits in a computer. The chapter introduces different sources of errors in numerical computations and different error measures to quantify these errors.
