CF MEMO Immaculate Conception 2016
CF MEMO Immaculate Conception 2016
December 2, 2016
1. December 8, 2016 is a day of jubilation and faith for all Catholics as the whole
Church celebrates on this day the solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the
Blessed Virgin Mary. In 1942, Pope Pius XII declared the Immaculate Conception as the
principal patroness of the Philippines. Furthermore, our parish is dedicated to Mary
under the same title.
2. Moreover, the Church in the Philippines, in line with its nine-year novena in
preparation for the 5th Centenary of the Christian Faith in the Philippines, declared the
year 2016 – 2017 as a Year of the Parish as Communion of Communities.
3. Therefore, various activities are prepared by the Christian Formation Office for
this year’s celebration of the feast of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception and the
launching of the Year of the Parish with the hope that everyone will grow in their love for
and devotion to Our Lady who is our model of pure and wholehearted love of and
service to God and neighbor.
4. We will begin our celebration with a Eucharistic Celebration on the last day of the
novena on December 7, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. at the Immaculate Conception Parish church.
The active attendance and participation of every Michaelinian is hereby requested and
expected.
Procession
5. All Michaelinians are also requested to join in the procession at 6:30 a.m. of
December 8, 2016. Class advisers, Christian Living teachers and the department
coordinators are also hereby asked to ensure the attendance and participation of
everyone. Each class / section / department is also requested to carry their respective
Marian banners during the procession.
Concelebrated Mass
6. The feast of the Immaculate Conception is a holy day of obligation throughout the
universal Church. This means that all the faithful are morally bound to attend Mass on
this day. Therefore, as one Michaelinian family, we will all attend the Concelebrated
Mass at 8:00 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Parish church. Each class will select at
least ten students to offer, in cash or in kind, during the Mass. Full, conscious, and
active participation during the liturgy is expected from every Michaelinian.
7. In communion with the parish on the 225 th anniversary of its foundation, we are
also requested to join in the Parish Day parade at 10:00 a.m.
Marian Program
10. MARIA will highlight the different apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary. There
will be two entries from the grade school department, four from the junior high school,
one from the senior high school and three entries from the college department. Each
entry will feature a Church-approved Marian apparition and will choose a student who
will play the role of the Blessed Virgin (dressed according to the apparition).
11. Please refer to the attached matrix for the line-up of activities.
12. It is our hope that our devotion to our Immaculate Mother, Mother of the Church,
will deepen our commitment of building strong communities of faith, hope and love.
