Product Sheet IR 2011: Intended Use

The IR 2011 is an optoelectronic edge sensor used for contact-free optical scanning of web edges in conjunction with BST eltromat controllers. It has an operating range of 16mm (±8mm) in analog mode and 24mm (±12mm) in digital mode. The sensor can be mounted with an optional sensor mount and has connections for power, analog or digital signal output, and an optional blowing device to protect the lens from contamination.

Intended Use
The IR 2011 is an optoelectronic edge
sensor. It is solely used in conjunction
with BST eltromat controllers for
contact-free optical scanning of web
edges.
Note: For commissioning and opera-
tion, please refer to the separate docu-
mentation.

Mounting
The sensor can be mounted with an
Working Principle and Characteristics optional sensor mount available at BST
eltromat.
 Optoelectronic edge sensor (insensitive to external light sources)
 No influence on the measurements by flutter of the material within the sensor measuring range
Electrical Connection
 Optional connection for air sweep protects the lens against contamination from paper dust or
abraded particles
 Selectable operating modes: Analog (output signal 0-10 V); Digital (via integrated CAN-Bus)
 Operation display: LED (2 colors)
 Field of application: transparent and non-transparent materials, thick materials
