Objective

The objective of this assignment is:

o To understand the basic concepts of Information System (IS).


o To understand the applications and advantages of IS and how to use it to solve a problem.

Question No.1

Suppose you are assigned a task to design an Information System for a public sector university XYZ. By
deploying Information Systems in the academic and non-academic operations of university, the overall efficiency
of the system will be increased.
Now, according to the adoption of Information Systems:
i. You are required to identify all possible departments of university on which this information system
will be applicable.
ii. You are also required to identify which information is needed to be stored in the information system
for each department.

Question No. 2

There are different factors on the basis of which companies can be categorized as small, medium or large sized. In
following table, different factors are given, you are required to analyze these factors and then identify the
appropriate type of company. Provide your answer in given table.
