This document provides steps to create an info cube in SAP BW/4HANA from a flat file: 1. Create an info area, characteristics, and key figures in the modeling tool. Then create fields for the characteristics and key figures. 2. Create a source system object for the flat file and a data source pointing to the CSV file. Map the fields in the data source to the characteristics and key figures. 3. Create an info cube using the characteristics and key figures. Create a data transformation to load and transform the data from the data source to the info cube. 4. Create an info package to schedule loading of data from the data source to the info cube. Creation of info Cube

Go to rsa1 transaction code:

Choose info object from Modeling


Right click the info object and choose create info area
Specify Ur Technical name and long description

Click enter to create


Choose ur created area and Right click choose create info object
catalog for creating Characteristics and Keyfigure.

Step for creating Charateristic


Activate Ur Characteristic
And Repeat step creating create info object catalog for creating
key figure

Creating Key figure


Activate the Key figure

Now Characteristics and Key figure are created


Choose the created Characteristic right click and chooe create
info object for creating Non Measurable Fields as per the
Flatfile

Create a field by filling technical name and description and


continue
Choose the datatype

Specify the Length and Activate


Repeate the step for creating the Measurable fields from Key
figure

Choose the data type amount and specify the currency in the
fixed currency text box
Activate the screen

Step 2. Choose the source system Object from MOdelling . This


object is used to do the connectivity from Bi system to flat file system
Right click the source system and choose create for creating a
source system
Choose the flat file system from the screen and continue

Specify the source system name and Logical system name


Click Continue and it will be available in list

Step 3 To create Data source


Choose ur source system

Select ur source system object from the list


Right click ur source system and choose the create application
component

Give application component name and Long Description


Right Click ur application component and choose datasource
Give the Datasource name and choose the Datatype

Click Continue
Fill the Required fields
Choose the Extraction tab AND Select Direct Access as Allowed

Select the Name of the file and specify the path of a CSV File
Select the dataformat as separated with separators (CSV)

Give data separator as Comma


Goto Proposal tab and and Load the Example data
Choose the field tab and u can view all the fields

Go to Preview and choose the preview data


Active the datasource

After activation I will displayed under the Application


component
Step 4 Go to info provider for creating Info cube

Right click ur info object and choose the create info cube
Specify Info cube name and Description and click continue

Choose the info catalog symbol to choose ur characteristic


Drag and drop the character fields to Dimensions
Drag and Drop Key fig field to Keyfigure
Activate the Screen

After activation Cube will be Displayed under ur Info Area


Step 5 go to Data source for creating transformation

Right click ur Data source and choose Data transformation


Choose the Object Type as info cube
And specify the created cube name in the Name text box
Do the Mapings

For Key figure Right click the Link and Choose Rule Details
Choose currency as No conversion and click the Transfer
Values
Activate the Screen
Step 6 go to Info provider and select the created data source fro
creating Info source

Right click the data source and choose create info package
Give Info package name and click enter
Choose Schedule tab and click start button

Choose monitor (F6) to view the data successfully loaded or Not


To view the Data loaded in to PSA choose Psa Maintenance Icon
Click continue
Choose the Data Transfer Process right click and choose Create
Data Transfer Process
Choose execute tab and activate the screen to enable the
Execute Button and click it
To view the Data loaded in to cube choose the Data target icon
Choose contents

Choose Field Select for Out put


Select the fields and click the Execute Button

And once again choose the Execute Button


Data Is Available in Info Cube
