Batch Management

The material needs to be changed to batch managed but the system will not allow it because it detects sales order stock, even though the sales orders are fulfilled and completed. Inventory adjustments were made using movement types 711/712 to clear out the stock but it is still detected. Batch management issue

we are trying to set the material as batch managed. But this material has some sales order stock.
but these sales orders are fulfilled.and completed their cycle. i did inventory adjustments using
711/712 movements. the stock is cleared out. when i am trying to change the material as batch
managed system is saying sales order stock exists. but i dont see stock in MBBS /MMBe/MB52

please advise me

As understood from the information, the material was earlier not batch managed , which now needs
to be changed to batch managed.

Please check for all open sales order , purchase order which are in open status for this material
before doing any batch related changes.

You have close all the open sales order, purchase order and also have to clear the existing stock for
that particular material from the respective plant.

Then go for standard batch manged management. Also check the material master and maintain
batch managed indicator for respective plant.

There must have been some stock in Previous period ( check tabl MARDH/ MBEWH) .

- If there are stocks in the previous period, you can clear them as follows:

you have to remove stock from previous period and current period.

you can see previous period stock in MM03, plant stock view.

You first issue the quantity of the previous period in previous period (posting needs to be allowed in
MMRV) and then remaining stock in current period.

You can use movement type 201 or 551 for this.

Then you can set batch management indicator,

after this you can enter your stock again with batches.
