COMPARISON BETWEEN “DAFFODILS” and “NO BUYERS”

The poem daffodils written by “William words worth” which is totally an optimistic and
fantasy based, the poet is a keen observer of nature and he describes to impression a
cluster of daffodils flowers created in his mind and on the other hand the poem no buyers
is written by “Thomas Hardy” that describes the scenario after the second worlds war
and the poem reflects sadness, the poet published such a depressing poem in which he
created a street scene .In the first stanza of daffodils we see that because of the beauty of
daffodils the mind and spirit of the poet got lifted up. and the environment is full of
happiness for him but on contrary to the no buyer, the first stanza reflects dullness and
slow walk and sketch that slow walk as if they are dragging a funeral but aim to get
happiness therefore trying to sell "merchandise' due to this Hardy in stanza 1 immediately
created a depressing scene as well as sluggish rhythm. In the second stanza of daffodils,
the poet describes the magical beauty of daffodils that have unfettered the poetic
imagination of Words worth. But the second stanza of no buyers the poet describes the
salavences of the poor and needies and relate with nonliving thing that is, it is them who
are enslaved to the wagon and they depend on the money from selling items otherwise
they cannot survive. In the third and fourth stanza of daffodils the poet show the immense
love to the nature’s beauty and the magic of the daffodils that clear the picture of
romantic scene. He began to wonder that he had stumbled upon the great beauty of nature
after all this whole scenario helped him whenever they felt low by spirits or fall into
sadness so he recall all the beauties of nature and he again came to the life. but in the last
stanza of no buyers the poet describes the appearance of the lady who has lost her child
and she is emotionally broken but standing side by side of his man which shows the
equality also the last two lines describes that the survival of their life depends upon the
immense sadness and the extremely sorrows when the poet wrote “no one buys " and this
life seems to an end that describes the grief, crying and no hope. So at the end we
conclude that Daffodils is an optimistic poem which is based on imagination which
shows how nature cherish your souls and in every situation it made you feel happy and
turns your grief into happiness and whenever you feel depressive you may think of the
beauty of the daffodils flowers and it might help you to get out of your depression anxiety
and grief. But on the other hand the poem No buyers is based on reality there is no
imagination in this poem. The poet sketches the street scenario. The poem is a depressive
poem and there is no hope of life in it. The poem tells us all the difficulties they have
faced after the war and how they remains helpless and broken when there is no buyers of
the merchandise so they are unable to fulfill the requirements of their life and also sketch
the strong women who is totally broken because of her lost child but still stand firm and
do not let her emotions overcome her the poem has no imagination in it. The poem is full
of sadness and there is no hope of life in it . So the basic comparison is the Daffodils is
full of hope and happiness and the no buyers is the poem which is totally opposite to
daffodils having no hope in it not even a single happiness. But in no buyers they hoping
to get happy by earning some money and fulfill their basic needs for life.
