IO72.00 Overlaod Device Manufacturer Calibration

The document provides instructions for calibrating an overload board using two procedures: a user procedure and a manufacturer calibration procedure. The manufacturer calibration involves pressing buttons in a specific sequence within 10 seconds of startup to enter calibration mode. It then guides calibrating the zero, pre-alarm, and alarm payloads by pressing buttons to confirm values. The calibration can be exited by pressing another button. Errors are displayed using flashing numbers that indicate issues with sensors or the system board.

OVERLOAD BOARD CALIBRATION

PROCEDURE Date 27.07.2011

IO72 Pag. 1 di 6

Introduction

Attention:
The calibration of the two channels using push-button S3-S4 is not more required (S3 and S4
are no more present on this board). The board performs automatically the calibration of the
second channel.

Attention:
Push-button 0 (zero) belonging to the previous procedures is no more present.
This board is provided with the following push-buttons: SW1, SW2, SW3.

Attention:
The new board is compatible with the previous ones so it is possible to install it on units with the
previous version of the overload board. During the replacement it is required to replace three
green connectors with the ones supplied inside the new board box.

The overload calibration can be performer using two different procedures:

1 User procedure: This procedure can be performed just if the payload value read by the
overload board is between +10% and -10% of the maximum payload around the original 0
(zero).
2 Manufacturer calibration: Access mode is different from the previous one, it is possible just
for the 10 seconds after the initial test is completed and following a precise order of keys.

Both procedures can be performed using push-buttons SW1, SW2,SW3 as for picture below:

Manufacturer calibration

1) To access the quick calibration, press the following combination of keys within 10 seconds
after start-up (during this phase the two lower display dashes are ON):

SW2 + SW3
SW1 + SW2
SW1 + SW3

During the calibration phases each time the push-button is pressed the horizontal display
dashes scroll to the top of the display.

2) If the sequence is performed correctly and during the first 10 seconds after start-up, the
calibration mode is accessed and the display shows a blinking “70”.
This message means “waiting for zero calibration”.

“Tare” calibration

3) Make sure that there’s no weight on the basket than press SW1 to confirm this
calibration.
When the minimum value is confirmed the display shows a fixed “70”.

“Pre-alarm” calibration

4) To access the pre-alarm calibration mode press SW2.

Display will show a blinking “7P”.
This message means “waiting for pre-alarm calibration”.

5) Make sure that the pre-alarm payload is put inside the basket (attention: the pre-alarm
signal is not used; the pre-alarm payload is the same as the alarm payload, please see
chart page 6 in order to find the test payload to use to perform the procedure), press
SW1 to confirm this calibration.
When the pre-alarm value is confirmed the display shows a fixed “7P”.

“Alarm” calibration

6) To access the alarm calibration mode press SW2.

Display will show a blinking “7A”.
This message means “waiting for alarm calibration”.

7) Make sure that the alarm payload is put inside the basket (please see chart page 6 in
order to find the test payload to use to perform the procedure), press SW1 to confirm this
calibration.
When the alarm value is confirmed the display shows a fixed “7A”.

8) To exit the calibration mode press SW3.

9) Switch off the board.

After the procedure perform the payload tests on the basket base (left, right and central
part of the basket base) with maximum payload allowed, check that:
the overload indicator switches ON
the buzzer sounds
and that the unit stops.

Note

When inside the procedure there’s four cyclic menus:

70 : basket tare calibration

7P : pre-alarm payload calibration
7A: alarm payload calibration
dF : reset of the previous calibration

Push-button/keys:

SW1: push-button to confirm the calibration

SW2: push-button to scroll inside the menu
SW3: push-button to exit the menu mode

Errors

Should an error occur the display will show:

Error n° 04 blinking: error related to the board.
Error n° 01 blinking: error related to the sensors (load sensor module)

In order to understand the error code check the following Leads flashings:

LEAD DL1 (green) and DL3 (yellow) view

Sensors errors – green Lead green (DL1)

Flashings Legend
- No error
1 Sensor line error or channel 1
2 Sensor line error or channel 2
3 -
4 -
5 Signal value error (lower than the correct value)

System errors – yellow Lead (DL3)

Flashings Legend
- No error
1 Faulty board: replace the board
2 - wrong transducers wiring: check the electric connections
-faulty transducer: check the resistances inside the transducer
-faulty board: replace the board
3 Check the polarities of the connections to the Relay (connector J4)
4 -
5 CRC flashing error: replace the board
6 -
7 Difference between the sensors error. Check the sensor and eventually replace
the load sensor module. If the error stays, replace the board.
