Walls and doors

Whether the general office or the facility’s walls and doors are inappropriately fixed, the

security of the assets and vital information in the facility can be compromised at any given time.

In most areas and facilities with higher-end security like the server room, the doors, walls, and

the firewall must be fixed with electromechanical and mechanical lockers. This shall be

providing more extra security in the server room (Evans, 2010). The walls and fencing will

prevent unauthorized personnel in accessing the facility. The wall and its interior will be

providing physical security from unauthorized person and can be used in preventing the server

room from the fire—the facility rooms with computers and wiring closet that prevents

unsanctioned individuals from accessing information.

Physical access control

This one comes as one of the criteria in every aspect. An organization has to consider as

many as security controls to the server room. Access control relates ID cards, Guards to provide

physical access security (Evans, 2010). Permission of allowing only authorized users via access

denial. This reduces intruders in the gaining of access to most of the secured areas by use of

keys. The alarm system and alarms must be installed in order to notify only authorized persons

when programmed events or activities happen.

Fire detections

Whoever what comes to hand the automatic fire and manual detecting systems must be

installed—the automatic detecting system such as the thermal detecting system, smoke detecting

system and the flame detectors (Price, 2017). The manual detecting system such as the individual

response, for instance, making of emergence calls to the fire department, activating of fire alarms

manually, like the gaseous systems and water sprinklers. The organization must contemplate by

installing the fire detecting systems according to what they can afford as per their budget as an

organization.

Fire suppression

Most of the organizations time and time again uses numerous ways of the fire

suppression system; for instance, they can use automatic, the portable and manual devices

(Malozemoff, 2013). For an organization to be ready for this fire suppression, it must use one or

more than one of the fire suppression systems listed above, and this makes an organization to be

well equipped in case of a fire emergency.

Heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC)

Due to the operations of the HVAC systems it might have a dramatic outcome on the

information system, and its protections, the four locations in the HVAC system must be

appropriately managed: the humidity, the temperatures, the filtrations and the static electricity.

Power quality and distribution

Power supply has to be done in a proper way without fluctuations. Once the setup was

completed, choose for alternate power supply for backup. A safe and secured power supply has

to be established to avoid accidents, and the system should get appropriate power with voltage

control (Evans, 2010). The uninterruptable power supply is one of the power backups that protect

central computer systems when there are power shortages. Grounding, this makes sure that the

returning current flow is appropriately discharged towards the ground. Another significant factor

of the power management is that it has the capability of stopping power instantly (Malozemoff,

2013). The server room must be installed with emergency power equipment’s, that is a large red

switch. The switch must be conspicuously installed in order to facilitate the access and minimize

an accident-proof cover in preventing unintentional usage.
