Related concept: Change, Simplification.

Statement of inquiry: Financial, personal and economic change can be understood using proportional relationships like
ratios and percentages.

Inquiry questions such as these should be developed by teachers and students:

Factual: How do we create fractions to decimals?


What is the difference between percentage of and percentage off?

Conceptual: What is the relationship between fractions and decimals?


How do we simplify a ratio?

Debatable: What is the best way to find the percentage of something?

Summative assessment

Students will be evaluated for the following criteria by giving regular classroom tests and also Quiz. Students will also be challenged
by making them work on real life applications where the fractions are used more commonly like in cooking and also in banking etc.
Students will also be assessed based on their performances on exam and quiz which will be at the end of 6 weeks grading period.
