By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to listen and understand longer supported questions by responding correctly

Pupils will be successful if they can:


a) Know about street safety
b) Know different safety rules to apply for different means of transport
c) Listen carefully and fill in the blanks with correct information
d) Write about places they are going to.
1. Play the song Street Safety on SB page 59 (Track 3) and encourage pupils to sing along.
Starter 2. Discuss different safety rules that apply to different means of transport.
E.g. What do you have to wear when you ride a bike?
3. Activity 1:
a. Distribute worksheet.
b. Pupils complete the sentences with the words in the box.
c. Have pupils compare their answers in pairs, then check as a class.
4. Activity 2:
a. Pupils listen to a dialogue and complete Joe’s notebook with the correct information.
b. Play CD track 19 (twice, if necessary) and have pupils complete the activity.
c. Have pupils compare their answers in pairs, then check as a class.
5. Activity 3:
Main
a. Direct pupils’ attention to the girls and ask them to guess what they are doing.
b. Play the CD and have pupils chorally repeat the exchange.
c. Direct pupils’ attention to the prompts on the left side of the page and read them out loud.
d. Tell pupils that they are going to take turns asking and answering these questions about a place they are
going to visit.
e. Have pupils do the activity in pairs. (Assessment)
f. Choose a few pupils to present the exchange in front of the class.
g. Based on pupils’ answers, ask pupils to write about the places they are going to visit in their exercise
books. (Assessment)
6. Ask pupils to think about their learning and performance in this unit.
7. They then complete the self-assessment worksheet.

8. Collect the worksheets from pupils and review them to note pupils’ responses. If there are any areas of
