EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Marketing Aspect
The primary target market for the services offered in
Kaw-itan are the tourists of Baguio City. Secondarily, the
locals or the residents of Baguio City. The sample size for
this study identifies 400 respondents from the potential
market. The proponents have ascertained that the proposed
business does not have a direct competitor in Baguio City or
La Trinidad. The indirect competitor of the proposed
business would be other nearby provinces that offers camping
experience by the beach or the sea. Other indirect
competitors include Transient Houses, Hotels and AirBnB.

Management Aspect

Kaw-itan would operate on the legal form of a General


Partnership. It is composed of five people who equally
contribute to the firm’s capital. All partners are involved
in managing the business and are also responsible for their
own tax liabilities and all debts and losses incurred by the
firm. To carry out its day to day service, Kaw-itan will be
managed by a team headed by an Operations Supervisor and
three camp staffs. The employee benefits also are in
reference with the requirements of the law to ensure that
employees are well protected and properly assisted in
situations such as sickness, disabilities, retirement and
death.

Technical Aspect
The Hammock which will be used in the Hammock Camping
is designed to be an adaptive protection in the wild which
is called Stingray Tree Tent. Able to accommodate 3 adults
and their gear in absolute comfort, this model affords and
incredible amount of versatility and space for any type of
camping situation. The office of hammock camping will be
located at Mt. Kalugong Cultural Village, near its entrance
with address at Tomay, La Trinidad, Benguet. . The Hammock
Tent will be bought from Tentsile Company, a US Based
company. The rest of the equipment and supplies will be
bought personally from SM Baguio.

Financial Aspect

The primary sources of capital will be a contribution


by each partner. Each partner will contribute an amount of
Php 100,000 to come up with a total capital of Php 500,000.
The financial aspect of Kaw-itan quantifies the results of
the marketing, management, technical, and other aspects that
affect the business. The financial statements are prepared
in compliance with the Philippine Financial Reporting
Standards and rules and regulations of the Philippine
Securities and Exchange Commission.

Socio-Economic Aspect
The proposed project aims to help the locals in the
area to provide funds for ecological conservation, to
directly benefit the economic development and political
empowerment of the local community. The project intends to
offer tourists insight into the impact of human beings on
the environment, and to foster a greater appreciation of our
natural habitats. It is our intention to provide an
inspiring and healthy natural environment for guests to stay
in to promote wellbeing. Our company will benefit the
government with regards to tax matters. Additional funds may
help the government on assisting its ongoing projects or for
creating new ones through which the people’s welfare will be
given more emphasis.
