CAM LAB PRACTICE

List of Experiments
1. To write a program to obtain the facing cycle in the CNC Lathe.
2. To write a program to obtain the turning cycle in the CNC lathe.
3. To write a program to obtain the step turning cycle in the CNC lathe.
4. To write a program to obtain the taper turning cycle-1 in the CNC lathe.
5. To write a program to obtain the taper turning cycle-2 in the CNC lathe.
6. To write a program to obtain the circular interpolation in the CNC lathe.
7. To write a program to obtain the drilling cycle in the CNC lathe.
8. To write a program to obtain the threading cycle in the CNC lathe.
9. To write a program to obtain the grooving cycle in the CNC lathe.

Do’s
 Always keep the area around the machine clear of obstacles.
 Always stack material where you can reach it but where it is clear of the moving parts of
the machine.
 Always check that tools are sharp and set correctly.
 Read labels carefully.
 Wear gloves when using any hazardous tools.
 If you have long hair or loose clothes, make sure it is tied back or confined.
 If leaving a lab unattended, turn off all ignition sources and lock the doors.
 Wash hands before leaving the lab and before eating.

 Guards on machinery must be in place during operation

Don’ts
 Never wear gloves.
 Never wear loose clothing or jewelry.
 Never place hands near a revolving spindle.
 Never leave the machine so that someone else is able to start it by pressing the cycle start
button.
 Never eat, drink, or smoke while working in the laboratory.
 Never work alone in laboratory.
 Do not use any equipment unless you are trained and approved as a user by your Lab
staff..
 Never, ever modify, attach or otherwise change any high voltage equipment.
