profitable growth with PAT increasing from Rs 33.63 billion in 2018-19 to Rs 79.31 billion in 2019-20. The objective of

changes and measures taken by it to cope up with the government enforced lockdown and the steps taken to carry out its
business activities and expand it in this new normal will be studied

The Indian economy has been heavily impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic with the first quarter GDP declining by 23.9%.
This is going to lead to lower lending opportunities and reduced revenues in the short to medium term for the banking
sector. Further, many steps are being taken by the central government and Reserve Bank of India to mitigate the economic
impact of this pandemic, the impact of which over the ICICI bank will be studied in detail in this project.

Methodology:

As it is mentioned in the previous section that the primary objective of the project is to assess the pre and post COVID
scenario of the ICICI bank. In order to achieve this objective, a number of excerpts will be taken from the current literature
available on different websites in the form of highlights from interviews with renowned economists, fund managers,
economic and financial advisers and senior officials of economic bodies etc. In addition, research articles and studies on the
effect of corona on the Indian financial sector and ICICI bank to be precise, by diversified groups such as consulting firms
and Central banks will be referred. The relevant information available in various forms and from different sources will be
carefully scanned and understood while drawing a correct conclusion for this paper. Secondary data will be used which will
be extracted:

 Annual reports of the banks

 Bulletins
 Periodicals
 News letters
 Internal reports of the bank

Future Action Plan:

Utilizing the methodology to dwell deeper into the preparedness of ICICI bank towards the recent outbreak of COVID-19
such as- the idea behind launching ‘ICICIStack’, the development in the banking strategy and initiatives taken up by the
bank to cope up with the impact. Changes in the services provided by the bank will be captured along with the study of
profit-loss statement of past 3 years to develop the findings and data-based inferences using software like prowess. The
methods of secondary research such as going through articles, analyst reports, company statements will be used to gain
knowledge on the future prospects of growth rate, challenges for ICICI bank and the way forward.
