Amazon is working round the clock to get groceries and essential items delivered to
customers as fast as possible. The following are the steps taken by Amazon to take the
problems of online, offline delivery and price gauging
(i) Retail Stores
All self served food offerings has been suspended and indoor and outdoor seating has
been suspended till further notice comes.
Adjusted the store working hours. Overall food market store will serve customers 60+
for one hour before opening to general public.
Increased the number of billing counters in the store to avoid gathering of crowd at
billing stations.
They have reduced the refilling time of the store as per new guidelines. Stores will be
closed two hours early giving
(ii) Online delivery
Amazon is trying to increase the capacity for delivery and pickup options for Amazon
fresh and Whole food market stores. In the places where online delivery in not
available the store remain open to fulfill customer needs.
Amazon is directly working with suppliers to get the items that customer need back in
stock as quickly as possible. It had removed the whole sellers from the supply chain
for some essential commodities during the lockdown
In order to serve more the demand it Amazon is limiting the purchase quantities of
high demand items.
Amazon has introduced an option called unattended delivery if they prefer not to
come into contact with others .Orders not containing alcohol are eligible for
unattended delivery, and is dropped in a location specified by the customer.
