CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION
A. BACKGROUND
Learning problems can not be separated from the problem of memory. Memory and
learning concepts are closely intertwined because it produces output in the form of learning
outcomes. The learning result is stored and maintained in memory so that later can be reused
(Hulse, et al., 1975). Ellis (1978) suggests that memory refers to information storage, access
information ever received ..
Every parent hopes their children succeed in learning and social environment and has
the strength and the value of good character so they are ready to face the challenges of life in
the future. In this decade terakhirterdapat developments in the field of education, particularly
related to the establishment of boarding schools well, by bringing in the additional
curriculum-based religious and nationalism. It is not in spite of awareness among parents to
send in boarding schools seem to be increased. Restlessness of the parents to the development
of adolescent promiscuity, rampant drug trafficking, metropolitan and regional security, the
reason some parents to send their children in boarding schools.
B. PURPOSE
1. To fulfill the task in the course of Educational Psychology.
2. Improving students' ability to summarize, analyze, and compare and critique in the
journal.
3. Strengthen the reader's understanding of the importance of Educational Psychology.
C. BENEFITS
1. Complete the task of Educational Psychology
2. To determine the relationship of academic achievement with social support in the
form of instrumental support

Abstact of Observation
- Observation goals To consider gender differences in learning, one must
understand the theory of brain-based learning. brain-based
learning is a comprehensive approach to instruction using
current research from neuroscience. brain-based education
emphasizes how the brain learns naturally and based on what
is currently known about the actual structure and function of
the human brain in various stages of development. In recent
years, educators have explored the relationship between
classroom teaching and the theories that emerged

of possibilities for education, and there is much discussion
among professionals in education about how this study
should be considered when developing programs and
curricula.

Preliminary
- Background and For many years, there have been a primal models of
Theory how our brain works. It was in the mid-1900s that the brain
was Compared to a switchboard. However, in the 1970s,
brain theory Began to examine the right and left brain

comparisons. Later, the brain was Referred to in terms of a
"triune brain," or a brain in three parts: the lower, middle,
and upper sections. The lower brain is responsible for
learning survival, while the middle and the upper brain are
responsible for higher-level thinking. Presently, brain theory
focuses more on a holistic view of the brain. The theory
emphasizes a more systems-based approach wherein the
whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Within the last two
Decades, neuroscientists constructed clinical studies using
diverse, multicultural groups of people to gather reliable
information about how our brains function. This information
has been beneficial in Determining how human learning is
actually Occurs. Scientists have been looking into how our
brain Gathers, processes, and retain information (Caine &
Caine, 1991). Currently, the research Also Appears to focus
on three key components of human learning and the brain.
The following section will review the current research on
learning and examine brainbased three major components

- Result of Studies have shown that gender-related differences
observation in the organization of both systems. Apparently, the
autonomous system women are influenced more by the
parasympathetic nervous system; Conversely, the
sympathetic nervous system of men have a greater influence
on the autonomic response control. The likely effect of the
divisions relating to gender is that exposure to threat or
confrontation sharpens the senses of men and exhilarate
them. Most women are exposed to stimuli such as feeling
dizzy and may have difficulty expressing themselves or react
Besides sensory and physical differences, the research
supports the biological differences between the sexes as
well. One such difference is the reaction to ambient
temperature. Research conducted at ambient temperature in a
class have reached some surprising conclusions. A study
conducted by an ergonomic specialist with the subject of
men and women wearing bathing suits, and they found that
the environment idealsuhu around 71 º F for young men, as
opposed to 77 ºF for young women. Because the study group
dressed in bathing suits, the ideal temperature in school
clothes will likely be about 2 degrees F lower or 69 ° F for
young men and 75 º F for young women

It can be concluded from the study that there are
significant differences in how boys and girls learn.
Kognitifotak difference based; Differences in brain-behavior
can be based or as a result of the response of the brain-based
differences. Very architecture of the brain and
perbedaanyang resulting in the perception of physical and
sensory skills are very different between the sexes in the
classroom and in the community. With itudalam mind, it is
important to examine how these differences affect how boys
and girls learn. This study akanfokus in a specific area boys
and literacy acquisition. The following sections will review
the current literature in a specific area boys dankeaksaraan.
- Discussion of educators need to consider implementasiyang strategy will
observation successfully engage both boys and girls in the classroom.
One of the first authors who wrote about the brain in an
educational context is Leslie Hart with his text The human
brain and human learning, first published in 1983. His term
"brain-compatible" refers to education that is designed to
match the "settings and instructions the nature of the brain,
rather than trying to force [brain] to adhere to the
arrangements established with almost no concern for what
this organ or how it works the best ". The types of
environments will certainly yield better results.

boys. Although the proponents of single-sex schools cite many
studies of successful single-sex schools, Reviews those studies are
of small sample size. The vast majority of the literature focusing
on single-sex education has been conducted in private and / or

- Discussion of Penny (1989) states bahwamateri presentation is a mix of
observation audio and visual and showed that the effective capacity of
the working memory can be improved by using visual and
audio channels. One of the examples of the most widely
cited in the literature regarding the modality is superior
retention on the list of items when displayed in a visual and
audio modality is not one modality alone. Similar to the case
of short-term memory, the effect can be observed in the
modality of multimedia learning when students learn from
an audio visual presentation with higher performance than
learning only from the visual presentation

contribute ideas formulated some of the results of this study
were 1) For education, the use of the modality and
spatialcontiguity was quite effective in improving learning
outcomes, so it can be an alternative technique of teaching
and learning. 2). Learning with narration and animation
proved quite effective to improve learning outcomes, so that
it can be developed by subject matter (other than the
meteorological knowledge). Narration and animation
techniques can be developed in the learning process because
it is proven to improve learning outcomes.,
