1. A plateau is a raised mass land which is flat like a table-
top and has sloping sides. Examples - Tibetan plateau ;
Southern plateau
2. A peninsula is a piece of land which is surrounded by

water on three sides. Examples – Indian peninsula that


is surrounded by Arabian Sea in the west, Indian
Ocean in the south and Bay of Bengal in the east.
3. The southern part of India is the Indian peninsula.
