WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE IN THE CLASSROOM?

Hannah B. Grepo
(BSED-Eng1A)

 Education for Global Citizenship deals with issues of global interdependence,

diversity of identities and cultures, sustainable development, peace & conflict
and inequities of power, resources & respect.
Upon tackling the global citizenship, we encountered different
issues just like what is stated in the statement. This gives us an overview of
what we will encounter upon discussing further. This one deals with issues
not only in our country but issues globally. Global citizenship also develops
the sense of belongingness of one person in a place. Also the cultures and
resources globally.

 These issues are addressed in the classroom through a wide and evolving
variety of participatory teaching and learning methodologies.
We are actually experiencing it by now. Just like what we are
doing in our subject. We are doing a reporting. We uses different varieties
and strategies in discussing global issues. Through reporting we acquire
knowledge about other countries and their connection our country. In this
way we are developing Global Citizenship. Having a care or lending some
time to learn.

 Global Citizenship encourages children and young people to explore,

develop and express their own values and opinions.
Global citizenship aims young people to develop their critical
thinking and decision making. Through this we can exercise our own right
and responsibilities to others. Achieving this would help people, may it be in
our country or in other country.
