ACTIVITY 1. My personal definition of History

Everything that happens in the past. The study of the ancient things and the
whole series of past events. Nurture the sense of the society and knowing the
past to succeed helps you in the present .History is a written record or narrates
in the period of time. History tells us what life did our ancestors facing before
like their cultures, things and other events.

ACTIVITY 2. History Theme Chart.

The theme is the message or the meaning or the main idea the writer is making about any
subject or a topic. Choose three comments of writers about history . Write your chosen
comments in the comment box of the chart. In the theme box, write down the ideas or
meanings that the comments suggest to you.

1. Provides us with the framework of knowledge that we need to build our entire lives.

4. To know the circumstances or occurrence of the past.

7. To strengthens our better understanding of the history.

ACTIVITY 4 – COMPARISON AND CONTRAST ESSAY


Read each question carefully. Write your answer in the space provided below.

1. Differentiate history from the past

History it was written or record in a documentation and it was an events that


happen in the period of times or an events that we treasure in our world like
the ancient things, cultures, ancestors and others while past it is just like in a
day before it was an even that happened like when you committed mistakes
or do a good thing or it was happened yesterday and past is an action that
already taken place.

2.Differentiate history from prehistory. Where does one end and where does one begin ?

History it was reliance on artifacts and written record in the past, it was a past
that happen after the prehistoric and history is research by an historians while
prehistory is a time period happen before history, there’s no reliance, it’s
research by prehistoric archeologist and physical anthropologist and it’s also
the period of time before writing is invented.

Prehistory is the end while history is the beginning.

3.Differentiate history from above history from below.

History from above was a source of huge information about the past in the
period of time, has a greater knowledge of history and has broader thinking
while history from below ,it's very simple but broadening, understanding the
identity and lifestyles of the society and the history of the common people.

4. Differentiate History, Historicity, and Historiography


History is the study of the past event and it's the branch of knowledge that
deals with the past.

Historicity is a famous history, potently and it's simply indicated the value of
knowledge, authenticity and accomplished fact from the past.

Historiography is the history of historical written, studying the explanations of


the event in the past and studying how historians research, recorded and
teach the history.

5. Differentiate history from herstory

History is the study of the past that has been written or recorded by a
historian while herstory defined the point of view of woman, pertains to
the courage, uplift and empowerment of women.
