Hardware Architecture
IDU
IDU has two types: S500 and S400.
S500 IDU consists of CU board (including TU subcard and SIU subcard)
and MU board.
CU supports three configuration modes according to interface
types:
 16 E1 interfaces: CU + SIU subcard
16 E1+ETH interfaces: CU + SIU subcard + ETH TU subcard
 32 E1 interfaces: CU + SIU subcard + E1 TU subcard

management system supporting SNMP, WEB network manage-
ment system (WEB CIT) based on HTTP, and character-inter-
face network management system (CIT-Telnet) based on re-
mote login.
The network protocol stack part includes the network interface
protocol stack and the space radio interface protocol stack.
SUP interacts with the hardware on bottom layer and manages
and controls all hardware and services.
The support software includes Operating System (OS), Oper-
ating System Support (OSS), System Control (SC), and Board
Support Package (BSP). It provides a software support plat-
form for the software system to accomplish the management
and control of the system, including multi-task operating sys-
tem platform, database platform and hardware driver platform.
BL interacts with SUP through hardware interfaces. It powers
on and starts the system, and controls the load and startup of
SUP.
