Cost
reduction
Minimise costs by making
the most of contact sensors

Check out the reasons inside!

Situation

A No additional mechanism  Cost reduction

No external mechanisms are required for higher accuracy
Air push type Measurement stroke Indicated accuracy
12 mm/32 mm/50 mm From 1 μm

● Conventional method ● Air push type

Linear guide
Slotted jig
Stopper

No drive unit required

As the measurement can be performed with the sensor head from a fixed location, mechanisms such as a linear guide and stopper which were conventionally needed are no longer required, and
cost can be reduced. This also results in higher accuracy because measurement accuracy will only be the measurement error of the sensor instead of the measurement error of sensor plus the
stoppage error of the mechanism.

Situation

B Able to contact  Cost reduction

Stable detection even for delicate targets
Low stress type Measurement stroke Indicated accuracy
12 mm/32 mm From 1 μm

● Non-contact ● Contact

Influenced by surface conditions Stable detection

Even for soft or thin targets that become dented or deformed with normal contact sensors stable detection can be performed with the low-contact-pressure type which uses an ultra-low repulsion
spring. Compared to expensive non-contact-types, it can achieve the same or higher accuracy with about 1/10 of the cost.
* Compared to our other sensors
Situation

A +B Both A and B  Further cost reduction

Air-actuated and low-stress contact improves productivity
Air push/Low stress type Measurement stroke Indicated accuracy
12 mm From 1 μm

NEW Application Examples

Parallelism measurement of smart phones PCB assembly inspection

Based on the strong needs of our customers, we created a new type that combines the advantages of both proposals A and B. For delicate targets, it can perform low-stress contact while further
reducing costs through air actuation. For example, measurement of targets which could only be measured by hand can now be performed in-line.

Situation

C Reduced man-hours for manufacturing mounting parts  Cost reduction

Tight mounting prevents drifting and misalignment
Flange-mounting type Measurement stroke Indicated accuracy
12 mm From 1 μm

Conventional Flange type

Manufacturing a slotted jig Only requires a ø10 mm hole
for mounting

No need for sensor mounting jigs, which were conventionally manufactured separately or purchased through a third party supplier. Just prepare a ø10 mm hole, then insert and fix the sensor in
place. In addition to using a small number of mounting parts, its excellent anti-tightening torque prevents looseness and misalignment due to vibration, etc.
