Plaster Casting Material
Our special, superfine formulation of calcium sulfate plaster is used
to make accurate reproductions of tire and footprint evidence.
It contains an exothermic retarder additive to prevent shrinkage
while curing. Each 1 gallon metal container provides nine pounds
of Plaster Casting Material. An instruction sheet provides necessary
guidelines for use of the Plaster Casting Material as well as helpful
tips for superior results.
Our empty plastic Water Containers allow you to carry a ready source
of clean water for use in mixing your plaster casting material.

Dental Stone Casting Material

Silicone Casting Material

Silicone is used for making accurate casts of footprints, tire tracks, tool marks, and for lifting dusted prints from textured
surfaces or irregularly shaped objects. Our liquid Silicone
Rubber Casting Material and Catalyst are supplied in 2 lb. and
8 lb. cans, along with 3.2 oz. and 12.8 oz. containers of Catalyst,
respectively, and a 3 ml. bottle of Accelerant.
Preparing the silicone for casting is simple and straightforward.
Combine 4 parts of silicone rubber with one part catalyst and
add two drops accelerant and mix. Pour silicone mix in the
impression and let cure for 30 to 45 minutes (at 70°F, 50%
relative humidity). A detailed instruction sheet is supplied
with each order.

TUFF-TRAK is an easy-to-use casting material, providing incredible impression detail

and unsurpassed strength with a compression rating of 18,000 PSI.
To make casting quick and easy, TUFF-TRAK is self contained in convenient 2 pound
bags. Simply pour 9 ounces of water into the sturdy bag and squeeze until you have
a smooth green mixture, then pour the material into the impression to be cast.
Allow 20-30 minutes to set and remove the molded TUFF-TRAK cast for perfect
impression evidence.

Press, Shake, & Pour Casting Kit-In-A-Bag

This self-contained Casting Kit-In-A-Bag consists of a 9” W x 11” H, 6 mil. thick

Mikrosil® Casting Putty Kit

Mikrosil® Casting Putty is used when highly detailed castings of tool and jimmy marks are
required or for lifting dusted latent prints off a rough or round surface. Mikrosil® has been
formulated to give excellent rendering of small details, highest contrast for microscopic
observations, good releasing ability for the cast, and short curing time.

To use Mikrosil®, simply mix the putty and catalyst on a mixing card with
the supplied spatula and apply it to the surface being cast. Within six to
eight minutes, the cast will be set. Mikrosil® even works in below freezing
temperatures, creating a perfect cast within fifteen minutes!

Mikrosil® is available in four colors:

Brown - the color which many tool mark examiners prefer; the dark color increases the visibility of detail in the casts

made from tool marks, firing pin marks, breech face marks, and other marks on cartridge casings.
Gray - is preferred by other tool mark examiners who photograph the contrast between the light-colored surface
•
and shadows produced from side-lighting.
White or Black - can be used to lift dusted latent fingerprints from rough or textured surfaces where regular lift tape

Evidence Casting - Casting Materials & Impression Lifters

This new line of NuCAST Casting Kits will change the way you cast! The formulation of this product is
superior to traditional methods, allowing the crime scene detective to lift an impression three times
faster than with any competing product on the market. With a higher bonding strength, NuCAST
casts are less likely to break than competing solutions and will result in more highly detailed casts.
NuCAST180 and NuCAST180XL are quick-setting casting kits that enable a fast, easy,
and accurate casting process for forensic professionals. Unlike traditional methods
that take 30-45 minutes to set, these kits set in about five minutes (setting times may
be longer in significantly colder climates). The NuCAST180 is ideal for use on smaller
footwear impressions, while the NuCAST180XL is ideal for tire treads and larger
footwear impressions.
Each kit includes pre-measured components for an accurate, effective mixture every
time with no mess. Mixing the NuCAST180 and NuCAST180XL casting material is a quick,
four-step process. You simply pour the casting powder into the recyclable container
and add the pre-measured liquid. After you place the top securely on the container,
shake the container for 35 seconds to fully mix the components together. The material
is lump-free and ready to pour into the impression.

NuCASTtool Evidence Casting Kit

The NuCASTtool has been tailored specifically to meet the needs of forensic
professionals who are taking tool mark impressions. It comes in a sealed,
single-use kit that consists of two pre-measured putty components. The unique consistency
makes it easy to mix by hand and provides a non-drip solution, even on vertical surfaces.
To use, mix the two putty components together for 30 seconds. Spread the putty onto the
tool impression using your hands and gently push it into the impression. Leave the putty in
the impression for 3-5 minutes (may vary in extreme climates). Once it has become firm to
touch, carefully peel off to reveal a cast of superior detail and strength.

Bio-Foam® Impression Foam provides an easy,
clean, and efficient way to obtain an impression
of suspected footwear. Instead of having to ink and roll a shoe,
as is done in fingerprinting, it is now possible to obtain a three-
dimensional exemplar of the footwear. Bio-Foam® Impression Foam
is simple to use and does not get the footwear dirty; either have

Wax Hardener for Snow Impressions

Taking a cast impression in snow always involves the risk of damaging the impression with your casting
material. Impressions in powdery snow can distort or crumble during the pouring process and the exothermic
reactions of casting agents can cause melting.
Our Wax Hardener for Snow Impressions is formulated to prime, seal, and protect delicate impressions
before and during the application of a casting material. Use it to set the impression before casting, help
protect against melting, and seal out excess water that might dilute your casting mix. Simply spray a few
coats of wax on the impression, let it harden, then cast the impression following your normal procedures.

Casts are difficult to transport and store because they are
prone to breakage. The EviBUBBLE package offers a unique
evidence packaging solution that is fast, easy, and highly protective, making
it virtually impossible to break the cast. The EviBUBBLE is a transparent
bag which you inflate by blowing into a disposable red tube. Once inflated,
the cast is suspended in air within the center of the bag. This barrier of

This kit contains all the necessary components for preparing silicone cast impressions found in sand, mud, dirt, and snow. It
contains the majority of components used in our Advanced Tire and Footprint Plaster Casting Kit in addition to liquid silicone
rubber. The use of silicone provides minute details of the impression and eliminates the possibility of breakage of the casting
in transit to the laboratory. This kit also includes items required to mark the casts as collected evidence.

EVIDENCE CASTING TIPS

• Impressions in loose soil can be damaged by the pouring
process. Be sure to spray a fixative such as our Acrylic Sand
and Dirt Hardener to help “fix” the impression. Make sure
not to spray too much or too closely to the impression.
The fixative should be applied very carefully. All impressions
are fragile and should be treated with great care.

• Cleaning the cast is usually not a recommended procedure.

Only the impression examiner should do this. They can
decide what is the best method to use for cleaning without
damaging the impression.

• Never rush the process. The exterior may appear ready

whereas an interior portion may not be. Take your time.

• Do not mix the dental stone too thin. Mixing it too thin
will result in a weak cast. Mixing the dental stone too thick
will also result in a poor cast.

• If possible, pour the casting material into an area that does not contain detail. Pouring the casting material over any details
can damage the impression whether you used an acrylic hardener or not.

• Debris such as roots or leaves extending out of the impression should be left in place. Removing debris could damage any
significant detail.
