a.Why we need to engage in community immersion activities?

We need to engage in Community immersion activities because it allows individuals who are not familiar with the people
and communities where they will work immerse themselves in these settings. This gives them the opportunity to reflect
on their assumptions, attitudes, and the knowledge base of their profession and to gain cultural competence.

b.What is expected from the students why they undergo community immersion?
The students will be expected to become civic conscious and defense prepared individuals, students who is undergoing
community immersion may also undergo certain changes like increase in knowledge about the social realities,
development of good values, empathy towards other people and improvement of social skills.

c.How do students connect with the community?

Students connect with the community by contributing to the development of community service provisions—for
example, by encouraging markets for local food—to help disadvantaged groups. Build links with schools and
communities in contrasting localities at home or abroad to raise awareness of diversity and global issues. Be ambitious
and outward-looking—use the local environment and community as hands-on learning resources and encourage
parents, community organizations and businesses to bring their issues to the school. Take students out into local wild
places and community venues, and invite community members into the school.

e. 5 Ways to encourage community involvement in the work place.

1. Reach Out For Ideas

Share with your staff that you’re looking into volunteer opportunities and ask for their personal favorites. Everyone is
always more willing to participate if it’s something they can get behind.

2. Build Excitement

Once the choice has been made, create a sub-committee to research the “who, what, where, when and how.” Roll out
the announcements to your staff, and remember to lead by example. You and the sub-committee members should be
the first ones to sign up for participation.

3. Get Others Involved

Include friends and family to participate. The more people you can get involved, the more fun it will be for your
employees.

4. Share in Your Success

Employees are more likely to participate again when you share your success. Make sure to take pictures, post updates
and relay how your team made a difference in the life of others.

5. Encourage a Community-Focused Culture

Make community involvement a key part of your company culture, and come up with creative ways to encourage
participation. A company-wide day of service is a great way to get all employees involved. You can offer paid time-off,
company matches for individual donations, or pro-bono services for non-profits. Or, consider coming up with an award
or prize opportunity for employees who regularly volunteer, and be sure to internally (and even publically) recognize
those involved.

3. Interview a local or a resident in your barangay or community about his experiences especially now. What
are his thought about our present situation?

The thought of the respondent says that the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic may be stressful for people.
Fear and anxiety about a new disease and what could happen can be overwhelming and cause strong emotions in adults
and children. Public health actions, such as social distancing, can make people feel isolated and lonely and can increase
stress and anxiety. However, these actions are necessary to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Coping with stress in a
healthy way will make you, the people you care about, and your community stronger.

severity. The “mild” version of the disease can involve a high fever, a rash, severe headache and pain behind the eyes,
and nausea and vomiting. Given that these symptoms are largely nonspecific, if you see your doctor about them and
have traveled in a place where dengue fever occurs, be sure to mention it. A more severe form of dengue fever is
dengue hemorrhagic fever, which begins much like the “mild” form but then progresses to symptoms that can include
nosebleed and signs of bleeding under the skin, known as petechia. This form of dengue can be fatal.

The most severe manifestation of the disease, dengue shock syndrome, includes the symptoms of the milder forms
along with severe abdominal pain, disorientation, heavy bleeding, and the sudden drop in blood pressure that signals
deadly shock. Onset is typically four to seven days after exposure, and the mild form usually lasts only a week, while the
more severe forms can involve either a progressive worsening or a sudden worsening following an apparent
improvement. Dengue fever, a mosquito-borne viral disease that can lead to severe illness and life-threatening
conditions, can be prevented by disposing of unusable tin cans, jars and bottles that can collect and hold water, as well
as covering water drums and pails, replacing water in flower vases, and clearing roof gutters.Filipinos, especially
children, are also advised to wear long pants and long-sleeved shirts when going out, use mosquito repellent every day,
and allow authorities to conduct fogging in case of impending outbreaks.
