FutureLearn  is  a  very  interesting  website.  It’s  a  bit  like  an  online  university.  FutureLearn  students  
can  do  courses  about  many  different  subjects,  including  Science,  History,  Technology  and  English.  
They  do  the  whole  course  online:  they  watch  videos,  read  information  and  discuss  the  questions  in  
the  course  with  other  students.  More  than  seven  million  people  use  the  website.  They  come  from  
many  different  countries  and  they  do  many  different  jobs!  

Today,  meet  Ricardo:  he’s  a  receptionist  from    

Mexico  and  he  studies  with  FutureLearn.

I  wanted  to  learn  some  new  skills  last  year  because  I  wanted  to  get  a  new  job.  A  colleague  from  my  
old  company  told  me  about  FutureLearn.  I  thought  the  website  was  great  –  there  were  so  many  
courses  to  choose  from!

My  first  course  was  a  Business  course.  I  didn’t  study  Business  at  school,  so  all  the  information  was  
new.  Then  I  did  an  English  course  because  English  is  very  important  for  my  job.  I  also  did  a  course  
about  Spanish  films.  That  was  really  interesting.

I  like  learning  with  people  from  all  over  the  world.  The  other  students  are  very  friendly  and  
they’re  intelligent,  too  –  they  always  know  the  answers  to  my  questions!
