HOTEL PERSONNEL
Hotel staff is divided into three main groups: Guest services, Administrative, and Support.
Guest Services
Front Desk Clerks – These employees are stationed at the reception area, providing
information to the guests upon their entry into the hotel.
Porters – Also known as bellhops in some places, they carry the guests’ luggage and
assist them to their rooms.
Concierges – A guest may contact them if he/she is in need of some services. The
concierge will then coordinate with other personnel for the execution of the services.
Housekeeping – These employees keep the spaces clean.
Room Service – They provide and deliver the services requested by the guests from their
rooms.
Waiters – In restaurants, they take the guests’ orders and deliver the food to them.
Kitchen Staff – The jobs done by this staff ranges from cooking to cleaning dishes, and
basically involves everything done in the kitchen.
Supervisors – They are responsible for hiring new workers as well as training them.
Kitchen and Restaurant Manager – They oversee the work done in the dining area of the
hotel, training and disciplining workers if needed.
Executive Chef – The head chef of the restaurant, he/she oversees the menu made as
well as maintaining a budget.
Administrative
Marketing and Advertising – They are responsible for promoting the hotel to the
community.
Accounting – They record all the expenses the hotel has spent as well as all its income.
Purchasing – Theses employees work in conjunction with the accounting team, and are
the ones who actually purchase the necessities of the hotel.
Event Planner – These employees plan the use of the hotel’s function spaces for the
purpose of holding events and also coordinate with the company or individual who will
be using the space.
Assistant Hotel Manager – The assistant performs administrative work for the manager.
Hotel Manager – He/she is basically the one who oversees all the processes done in the
hotel.
Support – These workers are the typical maintenance people. They are in charge of keeping the
hotel’s utilities in good shape. Support staff include gardeners, mechanics, plumbers, security,
etc.

Public Spaces are areas that are accessible to all people and personnel. Because of the large number of
guests in these sections of the hotel, it is expected that the staff would frequent these spaces as well,
making these areas the most dense in population.

Private Spaces are the personal rooms of the hotel’s guests and are the places where the staff would
not have immediate access. These spaces would normally be free of any traffic.

Restricted Areas are places where only authorized personnel may have access. These areas are typically
devoid of any guest users and thus would not require large spaces.

necessary for them. determine mo kung san ang space na pinaka loaded,yung dinadaan daanan lang
ganun and etc.
